“Condobolin schools are 48% Indigenous with a very high leaving rate at 15. We need to strongly prove to ‘choose a beer or get a career’. We have had fantastic feedback from short films made with Metro Screen two years ago. Very keen to produce more short films that will address the young people at risk.”

– Heather Blackley, Lachlan Shire Youth Services, Condobolin.

“Our young people like the idea of sharing stories with other young people from different areas to make them feel more connected with each other. More importantly this opportunity will advocate for young people so that they feel they have a ‘legitimate’ avenue for engaging in dialogue with each other and give them a voice within the community.”

– Bridget Perry, Byron Youth Service, Byron Bay.

“[There is a need for] the youth in this area to explore and develop its own identity, to strengthen and grow its cultural history and to heal and reconcile its history of fragmentation. This project allows participants to generate modes of enquiry that encourage them to explore their place as both individuals and as a community, as Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal Australians”

– Vic McEwan, Wagga Wagga City Council, Wagga Wagga.
