Prerequisite for subject options at Y5 & 6
• No of subjects required for IBDP:
3 Higher level (HLs) + 3 Standard level (SLs) • To do any Science subject at HL, you must have taken the
subject at Y3&Y4 and score a minimum of 6 points. For an SL subject, you must have passed the equivalent at Y3 & Y4.
• To do HL Math, you must score 6 points or better in Advanced Math in Y4.
• There is no academic requirement for all Group 3 (Humanities) subjects.

Language B (SL) courses are intended for students who have had some previous experience of learning the language.
Language ab initio (SL) courses are for beginners These courses are only available at standard level. To offer these subjects, students must not have studied the language before. The following languages are offered in ACS (Independent):

•Language ab initio: French ab, Spanish ab, Mandarin ab & Malay ab

1. An overall aggregate point of at least 26 points based on 6
relevant subjects
2. At least 1 bonus point for performance in PTK and IS and
3. A grade requirement of at least grade 4 or better in the 6
relevant subjects.

• Most institutions
– about 95% will accept 32-36 points
• Top institutions
– some require 37-42 points and above

popular courses, competition will be keen and so
your scores will need to be very good.
