Application ProcessThe 2012-2013 scholarship

process is completely paperless!! 

NO paper autobiographical statements.  NO paper letters of recommendation.  NO paper transcripts. 

All scholarship requirements will be included electronically as part of your on line application.

On campus scholarships are administered by the Financial Aid Office, academic colleges, various campus departments and associations.

Types of Requirements:

A “Complete” application would include:

Autobiographical statement1 letter of recommendation from a teacher or professorApplication information & Consent Incoming students (High School students and Transfer

Students ONLY) need to have a final transcript on file with the Office of Admissions.

Optional Items:A 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid

(FAFSA) submitted by February 3, 2012 (For “need-based” scholarships.)

After submitting your application you will have access to review your answers and check the status of your recommendations. You will also be able to access the search feature for outside scholarships.

Many of our scholarships have specific requirements and preferences. Please respond to all questions that apply to you, as this will increase the number of scholarships for which you may be considered.

Majors - Music, Theatre, Math, etc. Special Interests – Native American Studies, Asian Studies,

African American Studies, Latino Culture, Study Abroad, Sports, Community Service

Careers – Teaching, Food Industry, Water Management, Transportation

PLEASE NOTE – some scholarships require a separate essay in addition to your autobiographical essay.

Paste your text here……………Take time to edit and proofread your essay before you enter it here and submit it. Remember to mention special interests and other areas that you may have checked in your application. Once your application is submitted you cannot correct it.

On line Letter of RecommendationTo be completed by teacher or professor. (Supervisor may be used in special circumstances) Enter the email address of the person that you want to complete your recommendation. An email will be sent directly to them immediately after you hit Save and Continue with a link that is tied specifically to your application. Once they complete the process your scholarship application will be updated. You will be able to track the status on your application and send a reminder if necessary.

Notify your References!Notify in advancethe person that

you are requesting a letter of recommendation.

Let them know to be on the lookout for an email from notify@ngwebsolutions.com with the subject “Letter of Recommendation” so they won’t think it is junk mail and disregard it.

GPA Verification – Freshman & Transfer Students

Income Freshman (Class of 2012) and new Transfer Students can report their current cum gpa on

the application but will need to have a final transcript on file with the Office of Admissions to be considered for scholarships where gpa is a requirement.

2012-2013 Scholarship Cycle

• February 3, 2012 – Scholarship Application deadline

• February 4 thru March 2012– New student awards are being made

• April thru June 2012– Continuing student awards are being made

• End of July 2012– All students with a complete application will be notified

• End of September 2012– Fall disbursements begin
