Global Windows Shortcuts

Win + 1, 2, 3, etc.Launches each program on the taskbar

Win + Alt + 1, 2, 3, etc.Opens the jump list for each program on the taskbar

Win + TCycles through taskbar programs

• Insert “Enter” to launch selected program

Win + HomeMinimizes all programs except the selected window.

Win + BSelects the system tray

Win + Up/DownMaximizes and restore down the current window

Alt + EscSwitches between opened windows

Win + Pause/BreakOpens system properties window

Ctrl + Esc

Opens the start menu but will not work as a Windows key replacement for other shortcuts

Ctrl + Shift + EscDirectly opens Windows Task Manager

Windows Explorer Shortcuts

Alt + UpNavigates “up” one folder level

• Alternatively, “Backspace” to up one folder level

Shift + F10Opens contextual or “right click” menu of a file/folder

Shift + DelPermanently deleting selected file/folder, meaning unable to retrieve from the recycle bin

Ctrl + Shift + NCreates a new folder in the current directory

New Folder

Alt + EnterOpens the file properties of selected file/folder to view file size, sharing settings, and creation data

F2Renames selected file/folder
