Set Up Access Groups

Access Group Definition
• Combines time zones and doors into groups of where and when access can be granted
• Each user is then assigned to an access group

Access Granted
• Access is granted if the user meets the access group criteria

Open the Access Groups Window
• Either select the Setup > Access Groups pull-down menu option
OR
• Click the Access Groups tool bar button

Access Groups Introduction
• Access Groups are created and edited using a “wizard,” a series of windows that take you step-by-step through the creation process

Step Buttons
• The button jumps to the beginning of the wizard
• The button takes you to the next step
• The button takes you to the previous step
• The button jumps to the end of the wizard
• Click the button to begin entering information

New Access Group
• Click the button– This clears all data fields in the wizard in preparation for a
new access group
• Click the button for the available door list

Select the Doors
• Click on the deselected icon for each door to be included in this access group
• The icon changes to a selected icon• Click the button to view just the selected
doors

Doors Icons
Designates a door (default value)
Designates an elevator
Designates a gate
Designates a Time and Attendance Terminal
Designates an EntraGuard Telephone Entry Controller
The elevator, gate, and Time and Attendance Terminal icons will only be available if the feature has been enabled in Setup > Doors > Options. The EntraGuard Telephone Entry icon appears automatically when a unit has been detected during auto configuration.

Select the Time Zone
• Click on a door to open the available time zone list• Scroll through the list and select the desired time zone• Click the button to assign the time zone to the door
– (Repeat these steps for each door)
• Click the button when all doors have been assigned time zones

Assign Access Group Name
• Click in the Save Access Group field• Enter a descriptive name for the access group• Click the button and the new access group is
saved

Assign Access Group to User
• Open the Setup > Users window• Locate a user to whom to assign an access group• Click on the pull-down list and scan through the
access group options• Click on the desired access group

• Using the access group wizard you can also:– Edit an access group– Delete an access group

• Select an access group from the Load Access Group pull-down menu

Change Door and Time Zone Selections
• Click the button to step to the select doors window and make your changes
• Click the button to step to the select time zone window and make your changes

Save Edits
• Click the button• Click the button and the edited access group is
saved

Delete an Access Group
• Select an access group from the Load Access Group pull-down menu
• Click the button and the access group is deleted from Doors– If an access group is being used, Doors will not allow it to be
deleted
