Install FTP for Curriculum Development

Professional Development Training

Why?

• In order to better utilize the PCILMS and to support more direct updates to course material we must use a protocol called FTP to organize and update course files.

• This software will be installed on Windows and will allow the program chairs and those involved in the curriculum development process to directly upload and fix files for all courses in their department.

• This software has been approved by IT but will be supported by the Curriculum Chair through Bugzilla.

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer

Step 3: Click green download button

Step 4: Click Run when prompted

7Step 5: Choose YES on security warning

Step 6: Choose Next on installer

Step 7: Choose Accept

• The next message that comes up will have an “Accept” button.

• Click on that button.

Step 8: On the installer click Next.

Step 9: Click desktop icon and choose next

Step 10: Choose Next

Step 13: Click OK

Step 14: After check for OK click Finish

• At this point you need to get an FTP login and password from the Curriculum Chair.
