I’ll bring you more than a song

For a song in itselfIs not what you have requiredYou search much deeper

withinThrough the way things

appearYou’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship

And it’s all about YouIt’s all about You, JesusI’m sorry, Lord for the things I’ve made itWhen it’s all about YouIt’s all about You, Jesus

King of endless worth, no one could expressHow much You deserveThough I’m weak and poor, all I have is YoursEvery single breath

I’m coming back to the heart of worship

And it’s all about YouIt’s all about You, JesusI’m sorry, Lord for the things I’ve made itWhen it’s all about YouIt’s all about You, Jesus

Once Again

Jesus Christ, I think upon Your sacrifice

You became nothing, poured out to death

Many times, I’ve wondered at your gift of life

And I’m in that place once againI’m in that place once again

And once again I look upon the cross where You died

I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside

Once again I thank YouOnce again I pour out my life

Now You are exalted to the highest place

King of the heavens, where one day I’ll bow

But for now, I marvel at Your saving grace

And I’m full of praise once againI’m full of praise once again

And once again I look upon the cross where You died

I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside

Once again I thank YouOnce again I pour out my life

Thank You for the crossThank You for the cross

Thank You for the cross, my friend

Thank You for the crossThank You for the cross

Thank You for the cross, my friend

And once again I look upon the cross where You died

I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside

Once again I thank YouOnce again I pour out my life

And once again I look upon the cross where You died

I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside

Once again I thank YouOnce again I pour out my life

At the Cross

Oh Lord You’ve searched meYou know my way

Even when I fail YouI know You love me

Your holy presenceSurrounding meIn every season

I know You love meI know You love me

At the cross I bow my kneeWhere Your blood was shed for

meThere’s no greater love than

thisYou have overcome the grave

Your glory fills the highest place

What can separate me now?

You go before meYou shield my way

Your hand upholds meI know You love me

At the cross I bow my kneeWhere Your blood was shed for

meThere’s no greater love than

thisYou have overcome the grave

Your glory fills the highest place

What can separate me now?

At the cross I bow my kneeWhere Your blood was shed for

meThere’s no greater love than

thisYou have overcome the grave

Your glory fills the highest place

What can separate me now?

You tore the veil, You made a way

When You said that it is doneYou tore the veil, You made a

wayWhen You said that it is done

And when the earth fadesFalls from my eyes

And You stand before meI know You love meI know You love me

At the cross I bow my kneeWhere Your blood was shed for

meThere’s no greater love than

thisYou have overcome the grave

Your glory fills the highest place

What can separate me now?

At the cross I bow my kneeWhere Your blood was shed for

You tore the veil, You made a way

Call to Confession

Out of the depths I cry to You, O LORD;

O Lord, hear my voice. Let Your ears be attentive

to my cry for mercy.

Prayer of Confession

If You, O LORD, kept a record of sins,

O Lord, who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness;

Therefore, You are feared.I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,

and in His word I put my hope. -- Psalm 130:1-5

Declaration of Forgiveness

Passing of the Peace

Remember Me

In the night in which our Savior was

betrayed

He broke the bread and to His friends

He said

Take and eat, this is My body given for you

 Take and drink,

this blood of mine is shed for you

Do this always to remember me

 Remember me

In the night in which our Savior was

denied

He bowed His head and to the Father

cried

If it be Your will, let this cup pass

from Me

If it be Your will, spare Me this agony

In my darkest hour will You

remember me

Remember me

In the night in which my deepest doubts

are known

You come to me and I am not alone

When I taste Your blood and

body given for me

When I hear Your prayer in dark

Gethsemane

Then I know You will

remember me

Remember me

Oh Lordremember me

 Remember me!

28Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty.”

29A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips.

Communion Meditation

“I THIRST”

John 19:28-29

IMPORTANCE OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Reminder of our identity: Child of God, Member of God’s Family, Saint

Experience the presence of God: Spiritual nourishment, benefits of the atonement, promises of God

Be changed

Foretaste of heaven

Danger of the Lord’s Supper

1. Routine

2. Misunderstand

3. Eat unworthily

“Were You There?”

• Lord’s Supper symbolizes the death of Christ

• I participate/share in Jesus’ death.

“knowing that all was now completed…”

Jesus is on a mission from God

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

The Mission was predicted, described by the Law and prophets

Ps 22:15, My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.

Jesus is not a victim but is in control

The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life —only to take it up again.

No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

John 10:17-18

You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you.

Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none. They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst. Psalm 69:19-22

“I thirst.”

Thirst in ANE is a big problem.

Thirst is a mark of our humanity

Fulfills Prophecy

“Thirst” figuratively represents spiritual dissatisfaction, a longing for God

What was Jesus thirsty for?“LIVING WATER”

“If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water…. but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:10,14

“Thirst”

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Ps 42:1-2

It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. John 13:1

Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Rev. 7:16-17

Are you thirsty, like Jesus?

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.” Isaiah 55:1-3
