The Sayaji Start up Summit 2017 held at Vadodara wasaimed at providing a unique platform to enthusiasticstudents,earlystageprofessionals inVadodaratoconnetwithmentors,peers,angels,specialists,policymakersandotherstakeholders.ThesummitwasWorld's longestandbiggeststartupsummitoftheyearinIndia.TwoprojectsfromtheBabariaInstituteofPharmacywaspresentedatthe summit out of which the one project titled "Novelcarriersystemsfortargeteddrugdeliveryinthetreatmentofarthritis"byMs.PrachiPandeywasappreciatedbythepanel.

The institute always motivates students to take part invarioussocialactivitiesasapartoflocalNSSUnit.TheNSSUnitoftheBabariaInstituteofPharmacyorganizesvarioussocialawarenessactivitiesinsurroundingvillages.Asapartof this relentless effors by the Students and NSS Unitmembers, the Babaria Institute of Pharmacy received 5awardsduring3rdawardgivingfunctionforco-curricularactiviteson16/06/2017.Theceremonywasorganizedbythe Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. TheinstitutegotawardsfortheBestNSSUnit2016-17,BestNSSProgrammeOf�icer2014-15,BestNSSVolunteer2014-15,2015-16and2016-17.ItwasindeedaproudmomentfortheinstituteandtheentireBITSEduCampus.

As the United Nations has declared 21st June as"InternationalYogaDay",GujaratTechnologicalUniversitydecidedtocelebratetheYogaDaytosupportehinitiativebytheGovernmentofIndia.AtBabariaInstituteofPharmacy,theYogaDaycelebratedon21/06/2017.Dr.ParasBhuraexplainedtheimportanceofyogaindailylifeandexplainedvarioustypesofyoga.Asmanyas120participantstookpartinyogadaycelebration.Participantsperformedyogafrom10:15amto12:30pm.Theentireeventwasturnedouttobeveryrelaxingandrefreshingforeveryone.

Regular interaction with experts from various institutesandindustryismustfortheacquiringupodateknowledgeofaparticularsubject.withthisviewinmindaguestlectureon "InvitroInvivocorrelationandBCSclassi�ication"byDr. Gautam Singhvi, Assistant Professor, BITS Pilani,wasorganized on 24/06/2017. Dr. Singhvi explained variousattr ibutes and aspects of IVIV Correlat ion andBiopharmaceuticalClassi�icationSystem.Healsoexplainedhowindustrypeopleareusingthisknowledgetodevelopnoveldrugdeliverysystems.Healsotookquestionsfromstudents and solved their querywith suitable examples.Theentireeventwasveryinterestingandinformative.

The management of the BITS Edu Campus constantlymotivates faculty to learn new things and bringimprovement in their teaching learning methodologies.With this view in mind a session of Faculty training on"Teaching and learning methodologies" by Dr. GautamSinghvi, was organized on 26/06/2017. Dr. Singhviexplained various techniques and tricks to improveteachingand learningenvironment inclassroom.Healsoexplainedvariousaspectsofclassroommanagementandshared his experience with the audience. He addressedqueries of faculty members with relevant examples andanecdotes.Overall thesessionwasquite informativeandmotivational.

ThemanagementofBITSEduCampusalwaysencouragesfaculty members to take part in national as well asinternational conferences to expand their horizon of thesubjectknowledge.AspartofthistraditionDr.NaazneenSurti,viceprincipalBabariaInstituteofPharmacyattended44thCRCannualmeetingandexposition2017atSheratonBostanHotel andHynes Convention centreBoston, USA.Researchersandacademiciansfromacrosstheworldhadattendedthemeetingandconference.Theentireeventwasturned out to be a highly enlightened experience asnetworking and information sharing with renownedresearchersandacademiciansacrosstheworldtookplaceduringtheevent.Groupdiscussions,debates,presentationsandindustryroundtablediscussiononvariouschallengesandtechnologicaladvancements inthe�ieldofpharmacyandmedicalsciencewerefewhighlightsoftheentireevent.Overall theparticipation insuchglobaleventwouldbeahighlyenrichingexperienceforDr.NaazneenSurti.

TodemonstratethepracticalapplicationofthetheoreticalknowledgeithasbeenthetraditionattheBabariaInstituteof Pharmacy to organize industry visit for students ofB.PharmaswellasM.Pharm.StudentsofB.PharmsemesterIII along with two faculty members visited EthicarePharmaceuticals,Por,Vadodaraon25/07/2017.Studentsvisited various departments like manufacturing, qualitycontrol and packaging during the visit. The industryrepresentativeaccompaniedstudentsduringthevisitandexplainsvariousprocessesandaspectsofmanufacturingtostudents. Students actively tookpart in question answersessionattheendofthevisit.Theentireindustryvisitwasturnedouttobevery.

Tokeeppacewiththefastchangingtechnology,knowledgeof current developments in the pharmacy �ield is veryimportant. With this view in mind a guest lecture on"Pharmacometricsindrugresearchanddevelopment"byDr.HusainAttarwalawasorganizedatBabariaInstituteofPharmacy.Dr.HusainAttarwalaexplainedindetailaboutvarious Pharmacometrics in drug research anddevelopment. He emphasized the importance of novelPharmacometricsindrugresearchanddevelopment.Thein-depthknowledgeofthespeakermadethisentiresessionveryinformativeandinteresting.

Tokeep student's knowledge at parwith industry it hasbeentraditionattheBabariaInstituteofPharmacytocallindustry experts for the guest lecture to enlightenedstudentswiththeirknowledge.AGuestlectureon"processvalidationoforalsoliddosageforms"byMr.PiyushLodhia,was organized on 24/08/2017 at Babaria Institute ofPharmacy.Mr.PiyushLodhiaexplainedthevariousaspectsofprocessvalidationoforalsoliddosageformstostudents.He also emphasized the importance of processoptimization in quality control during the productdevelopment.Theentireeventwasturnedouttobeveryinformativeforstudentsasstudentsactivelyparticipatedinquestionandanswersession.

GaneshUtsavisthemainattractionofBITSEduCampus.EveryyeartheGaneshUtsavisorganizedenthusiasticallywithvibrantdecorationandvariousculturalactivities.Thethemeofthisyears'sGaneshUtsavwas"GarviGujarat".TheentiredecorationofthedomewasdoneinaccordancewiththeGarviGujarattheme.AllstaffmembersandstudentsofallinstitutesofBITSEduCampustookpartinpooja,culturalandco-curricularactivitiesduringthefestival.Thefestivalwasconcludedwiththeawardgivingceremonyonthedayof Ganesh visarjan. Winners of various co curricularactivitiesandmeritoriousstudentswererewardedbythefounder chairman sir and other management members.The festival concludedwith grand procession of GaneshvisarjanfollowedbyPrasaddistributiontoalldevotees.
