Raising The Curtain On 1935

The present pamphlet is the fourth in a

series of yearly publications containing pre-

dictions and prophecies for the coming year.

The first one was issued in the Fall of 1931,

covering the year 1932. Early in the Springof 1932 the nature of its predictions was so

appreciated by multitudes in America that

edition after edition of the pamphlet was

printed and circulated not only by the original

organisation but by many large firms, banking

institutions, and humanitarian movements.

Newspapers republished all or part of the pam

phlet in detail and before the end of the year

there were thousands of comments in public

print regarding the correctness of the pre

dictions made.

The same uniform appreciation of the pam

phlets for 1933 and 1934 was accorded by

thousands of firms and publications in theUnited States.

Facts Not Fancy

It is to be noted that the predictions and

prophecies contained in these pamphlets are

not based upon any weird, speculative, or

mythical system, nor upon spiritualistic dicta

tions or any form of necromancy. The pre

dictions are made as a result of a careful

study and analysis of large charts and din-

grams of world conditions outlined in cyclesof periodicity much like the charts and curves

of the action or trends of business in any spe-

cific field, or like charts that are made of the

rise and fall of market quotations. These

charts, diagrams, and world studies are made

and preserved in the archives of the Rosicru-

cian organization of Europe for the sole pur

pose of guiding human effort and forewarning

students of universal history of the trend of

worldly affairs.

Each pamphlet is written and published sev

eral months prior to the new year and the last

one issued for 1934 has already gained world

wide recognition for its accuracy and its very

definite predictions of many events now ful

filled, but which were unsuspected and unbe

lievable at the time the pamphlet was issued.

An unbiased reading of this pamphlet, with

the understanding that its author and the or

ganisation circulating it are in no wise con

nected with any political movement and abso

lutely neutral in regard to its world-wide affili

ations, will enable the reader to derive a fair

picture of the year 1935.

(Issued during the month of October, 1934.)

1935— A N D SURPRISE

V V VOnce again we are on the high seas, return

ing from Europe where we have made a careful

study and analysis of the charts of cycles of

world events as preserved in the Rosicrucian

archives. For many centuries these famous

records have clearly portrayed the fixed ten

dencies and trends of human, worldly events.

Cycles of actions, moving one within anotheracross huge sheets of parchment, have traced

varying curves of motion affecting every con

certed action of groups or sections of nations

and peoples, while other interwoven sectors of

curves reveal the Cosmic impulses in their un

interrupted urges upon the thinking and re

sponsive volitions of all human beings.

In the political, economic, social, moral, re

ligious, and scientific restlessness of our world

citizens, these tendencies of cyclic action are

most definite. From a study of these, certain

consequential reactions are also revealed, and

these give us a secondary picture of more mi

nute detail.

Argue as we may, we cannot deny the very

definite tendencies shown by the cycles of past

events. The recen t economic depression in the

United States, for instance, caused many stu

dents and experts to analyze the tendencies

of economic conditions in the light of the facts

about the cycles of life published in one of our

books several years ago, and the result was a

completely new view-point of the matter.

Since then more has been published in financial

magazines about the “Economic Cycles" than

ever before. Such knowledge explains the

seeming mystery of the economic upheavals in

all parts of the world.

However, many other events of life have

as great a bearing upon the peace, prosperity,

and happiness of nations, as the purely eco-

nomic. All of these cycles with their periodicity

of action must be studied by the student of

world affairs if he would offer his assistance

in aiding mankind by forewarnings. This, at

least, is the self-imposed duty of every true

Rosicrudan.

General Wor ld Condi t ions

W hen we left the port of Newr York on

August 1st, 1934, for Europe, the whole world

had its eyes centered on the strained conditions

existing particularly in Vienna, Austria, and

in Europe generally. Yet, we knew from our

previous study of 1934 that it was perfectly

safe to wend our way through the very terri

tory where war seemed most imminent, and

reach our goal in the Austrian Alps before

proceeding to other centers of Rosicrucian

archives.Today (September 18, 1934) as our steamer

is plying through a smooth Atlantic, we can

say with all positiveness that Europe is less

apt to go into war than she was a few years

ago, despite all the predictions and prophecies

of eminent statesmen and famous agitators.

There is not a single nation in Europe at

this time whose cycle of war  is about to cross

any line of action. Furthermo re, there has not

been in Europe for many years the strong ten-

Page Six

dencies toward international peace which exist

now and will continue to exist for many

months.

As each month passes during the next

eighteen months there will be a decreasing de

sire for war in the national consciousness of

cach of Europ e’s leading nations. A fter that,

war will be less likely than ever before.

In a purely national sense, however, there

arc some disturbing indications. Nations in

Europe will refrain from great internationalconflicts with admirable courage, but within

their own boundaries certain of these nations

will experience the  fire of revolutionary tran

sition from one stage of evolution to another.

A Reign of Dictators

Austria, for instance, will light bravely, as

we indicated in previous writings, for a return

to a modified form of monarchy, without

which she will be neither happy nor prosper

ous. I n Germany, on the other hand, her ten

dency toward peace and worldly harmony will

be disturbed by the treachery of some w'ho will

seek to weaken the power which the Germanpeople have willingly an d hopefully placed in

the hands of one supreme dictator. Despite

the statements of “world observers” the present

leader of the Germ an gov ernment is considered

by many Germans as the right man of the

hour, and has far more sympathetic support

than the W'orld understands. The danger that

faces Germany is a danger that faces him, for

he has almost reached the zenith of  his cycle,

and is surely to be crossed  by the cycles of

treachery . But these intern al affairs will be

but the burning of the greater fire that will

make a greater Germany and the work of the

present Dictator after he has altered some of

his objectionable policies will count more for

peace and reconstruction than anything else

in the future of that country.

One of the greatest cyclic influences for in

ternational peace is now active in Italy, and

will continue to manifest its power for a long

time. In Italy there is now rising a world

leader, or adviser, that will make the name of

Mussolini famous for centuries.

Fran ce To Sink In Mir e of

War Fear

France, unfortunately, is passing through a

Cycle of Fear. It is suffering from a W ar-fear

complex, due to a crossing of two of its cyclic

curves, which will affect it for another year.

The very soul and consciousness of its people

nationally, and almost individually, are being

sorrowed, restrained, terrorized, and depressed

by this fear of war. Th e reaction of this will

be manifested in an economic depression, lossof trade, injury to its good-will, resentment

against government activities of communists

and treachery. An d— all this is so unnecessary.

Great Britain, also, is facing some serious

intern al problems. She, too, must keep out of

international strifes if she is to follow the urges

of her cyclic impulses; but she will do well

to give serious thought to the growing power

of a modified form of Fascism which even now

must be more potent in the United Kingdom

Pa ge E i gh t

than any of her statesmen suspect. The trend

of her political affairs indicates that her future

King will occupy a glorious position in a dif

ferent form of government than Great Britain

has ever known. There are excellent Cosmic

impulses responsible for the increasing desire

for world peace in the hearts of Britain’s fine

consciousness, and she will be one of the first

of the countries across the Atlantic to enjoy

a rise in prosperity and contentment, despite

the inevitable changes that are about to be

come manifest.

Throughout the w'orld the Cosmic impulses

making for important changes for the better

will manifest in local outbreaks of restlessness.

In the Near East and the Far East there will

be strifes and contentions, the breaking down

of some old customs, rules, and attitudes, the

vain efforts to secure undeserved and unwar

ranted independence. New political leaders

an d saviors will arise whose futile plans will

cause much loss of life, bu t befor e 1935”closes

her term many of these peoples will have

learned a great lesson and have a better reali

zation of their true place in the Great Scheme

of evolution.

Russia To Eliminate Agitators

Russia is heading for enormous improvem ent

in all her plans, including the inevitable house

cleaning. She has not yet seen the w riting on

the wall, but before the end of 1935 some of

her wise leaders and law makers will keenly

appreciate the necessity of eliminating from

the country a number of agitators, and a num

ber of insidious forms of propaganda which

Page Nine

Page 6: AMORC - 1935 and Surprise

have been injuring her internal progress and

jeo pa rd izi ng he r int erna tio na l re pu ta tio n. She,

too, will soon become a world-factor in the uni

versal urge for  peac e. Many great political

truths will be revealed by Russia’? praise

worthy actions of various kinds.

International Tendencies

All in all, we see that the great powers of

the world are consciously or unconsciously

moving toward international peace, and as eachof these countries becomes enthused, as well as

engaged in the interesting and profitable busi

ness of cleaning the inside of the cup, the

possibility of international disputes and con

tests will become impotent.

Even the smaller countries, such as Belgium

and Holland, and most certainly Poland, will

have, imp ortan t inner problems to face. W hile

these, too, will make some mistakes in attem pt

ing to interpret the Cosmic reconstructive im

pulses, each mistake will reveal a great prin

ciple and will lead to eventual good,

Broadly speaking, some of the countries

which all too quickly reacted to some cyclic

impulses and changed from monarchy to a

form of democracy or republicanism, will re

turn to a modification of their former status:

while some kingdoms will change to a newer

form of representative or brotherhood govern

ment.

The United States

Here the crucible of change is just begin

ning to transmute the dross into gold, as we

stated in our 1933 and 1934 papers.

Page Ten

All the lines of cyclic changes have not yet

converged in the chart for the United States.

H er present government, with all of its sur

prising changes and innovations, is but a feel

ing of the ways and a clearing of the tracks.

Unq uestiona bly, the greatest good accomplished

in the United States during 1934 will prove to

be the efforts now considered as mistakes and

errors of judgment, for out of these will come

many valuable revelations to b >th government

and people.

It is quite evident that so-called scandalous

revelations in high circles will feed the yellow

press and pessimist, alike, with joy. Rut most

of these will prove to be the natural result of

reconstruction. For, the United States is des

tined to become more united  and more har

monious in its internal affairs during the next

few years than the most optimistic has ever

dreamed.

Certainly there will be the localized out

breaks of political factions, new leaders, new

schemes of socialistic and economic control.

Most surely there will be bitter political wars,

surprising changes of public attitude, and many

political bed-fellows will change places or seek

new and independent berths.

Charges of deceit, fraud, deliberate misrep

resentation, and secret alliances will be made

against the highest officers of the government.

The fire will burn briskly at times, as though

infuriated by the restlessness of the people.

New Unity Between Canada

and United States

In the end, however, as history will write it

later, it will be found that the present experi

ments and tests were inspired by the action of

the Cosmic cycles, and would have made simi

lar manifestations under any leader.

The United States is in the process of tran

sition. It is at war, as we stated in our 1934

paper: and that war  against the errors of thepast will continue through 1935. Day by day,

despite the inevitable upheavals in the forms

oi strikes, rebellions, Senate investigations,

storms, momentary depressions, and other

forms of drastic action, the country will move

forward toward a better general condition,

with business, trade, and employment increas

ing, values becoming stabilized, government

control more widely sanctioned, and peacemore firmly established.

The relationships between the United States

and other countries, particularly Canada, will

become more assuring, friendly, and beneficial.

In Canada many innovations will find generalapproval and increased prosperity will reward

the Canadians before the end of 1935.

Religious Intolerance To Wane

Still the rising power of the newer genera

tion is to be felt in all social, moral, and re

ligious matters throughou t the Western W orldfirst, then throughout Europe.

The swing of the pendulum in regard to

the modernistic tendencies of the rising gener-

Page Twelve

ation will rea^h its maximum during 1935 and

there will be indications aplenty to show that

"yo uth has tired of its fling.” It will not be

tiredness, however, but a realization of the

loss ot potential power accompanied by a

quickening of the Cosmic impulses to give

greater heed to the Spiritual values of life.

Here, then, will be found the golden op

portunity which the church needs to strengthen

its influences and apply its possibilities. Th e

charts show, however, that for a while, possibly two more years, the church generally wall

fail to adapt itself to this new set of fortunate

conditions. It will try to maintain an austere

attitude and make contrition the keynote of

the search of the spiritually awakened. W hen

it finds, however, that Love in its most human

as well as Spiritual sense will open the doors

to the new multitudes, a great rebirth of re

ligion and church attendance will result.

The elimination of religious intolerance and

theological disputes will be demanded by the

increasing number of seekers for religious

Light, and many eminent theologians will come

forward in different parts of the world during1935, supporting the new awakening and cast

ing aside their former positions, much to the

consternation of the staid orthodox.

Banking To Receiv e N ew Jol ts

All over the world the values of all things

will greatly change in 1935. Regardles s of any

monetary standard—gold or silver—there will

be a consideration of the real value of  service

an d  pr od uc t.

Page Thi r teen

Page 8: AMORC - 1935 and Surprise

The present vascillation in monetary matters

will continue for months—at some period be

coming disquieting. But each sad experience

will prove to millions the fallacy of material

values arbitrarily established.

Banking and speculative systems will receivc

a number of new  jo lts , during 1935, in the

United States and parts of Europe. As stated

in our previous papers, these changes in eco

nomic matters constitute one of the most im

portant features of the great evolution that

is now affecting the future of the more ad

vanced nations.

Scienti f ic Matter

In the field of science, discoveries, revela

tions, and advancement will be most numerous

in two branches; namely, medicine and cos

mogony.

In medicine and therapeutics some astonish

ing discoveries in connection with the cure of

tuberculosis and cancer will be announced by

Italian authorities cither in Italy or in some

other part of Europe, and important findings

will be made regarding the human nervoussystem and the treatment of many puzzling

nervous disorders. The recent epidemic of

sleeping sickness and related conditions will be

better understood as a result of scientific rev

elations during 1935 and some great advance

ment will be made in regard to serums by

eminent men of England and Germany.

In the United States there will be consider

able advancement in the practice of therapeu

tics of both the drug and drugless methods,

Page Four teen

and great advancement will be made in coiv

nection with the study of the influence of high

frequencies on the cause and cure of disease

and nervous conditions.

In cosmogony and the study of the cosmic,

cosmic rays, and cosmic influences, science will

cast much light upon subjects which have here

tofore been considered arcane matters dealt

with almost exclusively by the schools of mys

ticism and metaphysics. The very definite line

between physics and metaphysics will be made

more flexible and a better understanding of theprinciples involved in both of these sciences

will become more popular and given more con

sideration in all human affairs. A few sur

prising discoveries will be made in the heavens

in connection with the starry bodies and some

new facts of a surprising nature will be re

vealed in regard to the ancient knowledge of

the Egyptians as it relates to present and fu

ture conditions of the world.

An other very ancient city will be discovered

buried in the sands of the countries bordering

on the equator, and in South America some

archaeological discoveries will throw interest

ing light upon past history. More will belearned about the ancient continent of Le-

muria, and the myths that have been asso

ciated with this ancient continent will be .grad

ually turned into actual history.

Man's Personal Evolution and

Advancement

The year 193 5 is going to see a greater de

velopment or interest in the study of man’s

Page Fi f teei .

Page 9: AMORC - 1935 and Surprise

latent powers and abilities than in any year of

the past century. The tendency on the part of

science to release facts that it has discovered

proving the existence of an in ner consciousness

in man that has a dominating control over his

thinking and acting and influencing his world'

ly affairs to a considerable degree, will be made

quite frequently during 1935 and the many

new books and pamphlets dealing with man's

ability to control and direct his destiny will

become popular.

You May Take Advantage

of These Great Changes

The Rosicrucian Order, known throughout

the world as AM OR C, always the leader in

all movements tending toward the unfoldment

of man's potent possibilities and inner powers,

will continue to make great strides in its

guidance of the studies of those who are seek

ing for such fascinating knowledge.

The International Congress of fourteen eso-

tcric, mystical, metaphysical, and philosophical

organizations, held in Brussels during August

of 1934, through which these organizationsformed a Federation for the wider dissemina

tion of their age-old wisdom and practical

methods of assisting mankind in its evolution,

will be the first move of a world-wide cam

paign to assist man in taking advantage of the

new form of consciousness that has been

quickening within him and urging him to in

vestigate the world within himself instead of

concentrating his attention almost exclusively

on the world around him.
