With more than 3 million supporters scattered across 150 countries, Amnesty International aims to eliminate human rights violations around the world. Established more than 50 years ago, the organization keeps members up-to-date on events that may lead to human rights violations.

Members can become involved in numerous ways through the organization’s Activism Centre. Its online communities allow members to mobilize human rights activities and provide access to campaign tools. The organization has access to a tool kit that provides users with information on how to use social networking sites, blogs, and videos to bring attention to these causes. By adding their names to a list of supporters, members can add pressure on state representatives to end human rights abuse.
