You may have two methods to control this KVM switch, please refer to the descriptions below. 1. Front push buttons The front button allows you a direct control over KVM switching operation. Simply press the button to toggle to the other PC port (together with hub port control and/or audio/mic port, if binding is enabled). By default, PC port switching, hub port control and audio/ mic port switching are bound together, unless you specify the audio to be fixed a specific port. 2. Keyboard Hotkeys A keyboard hotkey sequence consists of at least three specific keystrokes: See Quick Reference Sheet

Hotkey sequence = [ScrLk]* + [ScrLk] * + Command key(s) *

User-definable = SCROLL LOCK, CAPS, ESC, F12 or NUM LOCK Hotkey preceding sequence configuration: For users who want to use a preceding sequence other than two consecutive Scroll Locks, there is also one convenient way to configure it. (1) Hit ScrollLock + ScrollLock + H, then two beeps will signal readiness for new preceding

sequence selection [or Press and hold down the last front-panel button (Button 2 or Button 4) until you hear two beeps, then release the button.]

(2) Select and press the key you would like to use as your preceding sequence (SCROLL LOCK, CAPS, ESC, F12 or NUM LOCK keys are available for selection) and you’ll hear a beep for selection confirmation. Now you can use the new preceding sequence to execute your hotkey commands.

Note: Each keystroke within a hotkey sequence should be pressed within 2 seconds. Otherwise, the hotkey sequence will not be validated.

Troubleshooting 1. Ensure that all cables are well seated. Label all of cables with the number for each

respective computer to avoid confusion. 2. The recommended DP cable distance is 3 meters maximum without ghosting and

degradation. Normally, the cable length is based on driver capacity of your VGA card. If you need longer VGA cable, please use VGA extender to accomplish your applications.

3. The recommended USB cable distance is 3 meters maximum. Normally, the cable

length is based on driver capacity of your motherboard USB port. If you need longer USB cable, please use USB extender to accomplish your applications.

4. The Power Jack polarity is center positive and the power adapter need be DC12V, 1A . 5. Don’t press any keys on the keyboard while the selected computer is booting up.

Otherwise, it might cause the keyboard error or keyboard is not detected at PC side. 6. The computer boot up fine, but keyboard doesn’t work

Make sure the keyboard works when directly plugged into the computer. Try a different keyboard.

7. The Mouse is not detected during PC boot up.

Make sure the mouse works when directly plugged into the computer. Make sure the mouse is a true USB mouse. A combo mouse will work just as long as it is set for USB mode with the correct adapter. Try a different mouse. Avoiding moving the mouse or pressing the mouse buttons when switching ports. Avoiding switching ports during shutting down the PC process. When you switch one PC port to another PC port, the best scan time setting need to be set to 5 sec. or more. Normally, the DP monitor change one resolution mode to another will take 3~5 seconds. So, the scan time is not recommended to below 5 seconds.
