Our volunteers and staff are prepared to respond around the clock, 365 days a year to assure that Red Cross services are provided when they are needed.*

PrepareLA: The Campaign to Prepare the Los Angeles Area for Disaster

PrepareLA is the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region’s 3-year campaign, launching in 2012, to engage Los Angeles in preparing for a catastrophic disaster. With support from individuals, organizations, businesses and government agencies, our goal is to create more resilient communities , better equipped to help each other prevent, prepare for, and respond to life-threatening disasters.

– Sheltering: 500,000 shelter spaces throughout Los Angeles– Feeding: 4,000,000 meals a day served and bulk distribution

aquatics)

III.Community Preparedness (Preparedness Education)*+– Preparedness Education presentations to 70,000 individuals– Community Outreach ( aka “Impressions”) to over 280,000

Areas of engagement consist of American Red Cross Los Angeles Region activities geared to support preparedness and the goals outlined in PrepareLA. Opportunities range from individual to county level involvement with the Red Cross.
