Mission StatementMission Statement

The mission of American Muslim Volunteers is to unite and facilitate community service efforts of ALL Americans. American Muslim Volunteers is committed in helping to improve the lives of ALL people regardless of race, religion, age, gender or ethnicity.

History and ObjectivesHistory and Objectives Formed in October 2010 with the idea to help elevate the

name of American Muslims by: “Offering a Helping Hand to Those in Need”

Objectives for 2010 were: Serve the less-privileged in the Houston community and be visible

doing so Get-out-the-word about the organization to a select few mosques

and the community in Houston and generate interest amongst all people of all ages

Two Volunteering Events: Two Volunteering Events: Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Thanksgiving Day & Christmas

EveEve Collaborated with City Wide Club of America to assist with the “Big Feast”

Held at George R Brown Convention Center – full day events. 25,000 less privileged people served hot meals and given clothing,

shoes and toys for kids AMV: largest organized group present

~ 500 Volunteers on Thanksgiving Day; ~ 200 Volunteers on Christmas Eve All volunteers given free blue AMV t-shirts Several non-Muslims registered with AMV to volunteer Volunteers assisted in all aspects of the Event

AMV table visited by: Houston Sheriff Adrian Garcia and Congressman Al Green – show of support to AMV

American Muslims Volunteers extremely visible doing fantastic work for the Community!

AccomplishmentsAccomplishments Able to pull off a large volunteer effort in a

short amount of time inception to 1st Event: 6 weeks 1st event to 2nd Event: 4 weeks

Up and running: Website, facebook page, e-mail blasts, radio announcements, logo, posters and banners; 800 t-shirts designed and printed.

Great work done by All Volunteers. Special Thanks to them.
