A Day for DadsFather’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in
June. It is a time to honor fathers, celebratefatherhood and appreciate the influence of fathers insociety. Let all the fathers in your life know howspecial they are on this day just for them.
Father’s Day Facts! The first presidential proclamation honoring fathers
was issued in 1966 when President Lyndon Johnsondesignated the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day.Father’s Day in America has been officially celebrated
annually since 1972 when President Richard Nixonsigned the public law that made it permanent.
Roses are the official flower for Father’s Day. A redrose is worn in the lapel if your father is living, a white
rose if he is deceased.Nearly 95 million Father’s Day cards are given in theUnited States, making Father’s Day the fourth largest
card sending occasion. While not everyone in America is a fan of Father’s
Day, nearly 75 percent of Americans plan to celebrateor acknowledge Father’s Day.
