Hand-WashingBy Brian RossoHand-washing is the best way to

stay healthy and avoid germs. Beloware some tips for washing your hands:

• Use water that is at least 100degrees F.

• Use plenty of soap.• Make sure to scrub your hands

for 10 to 15 seconds. Singing the“Happy Birthday” song twice toyourself is a good way to timeyour hand scrubbing.

• Always rinse your hands wellafter scrubbing.

• Turn off water faucets with apaper towel.

• If you have to open the bathroomdoor upon exit, use a paper towelto open the door, which helpskeep your hands clean.

• Germs can stay alive on ourhands for up to three hours.

• Interesting fact: Right-handedpeople wash their left hand morethoroughly than their right handand vice versa.
