PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE ADVISORY Contact: Kristen Creston, The Hometown Foundation Phone: 203.250.5668 Email: [email protected] American Hero Benefit to Honor Fallen Navy SEAL Jason Lewis January, 2018 ––The Hometown Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with Farmhouse Restaurant, is hosting a benefit to honor fallen Navy SEAL Jason Lewis. The event will take place on Monday, March 19th at Farmhouse Restaurant in Newtown beginning at 6PM. The night will include hors d’oeuvres, wine/beer, live music, and an auction.

To help keep Jason’s memory alive, proceeds will be used to purchase a Police K-9 named after Lewis and a memorial bench placed at his favorite fishing spot. Navy SEAL Petty Officer Lewis was full of energy and loved rock climbing, bicycling, and fly fishing among other outdoor sports. He dreamed of being a Navy SEAL since he was in high school. Jason attended the University of Maryland and was assigned to a SEAL team based in Norfolk, Virginia. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal while serving his country. “He had an incredible personality that would light up a room,” said his mother, Jean Mariano. “He was never going to be a nine to five guy. I couldn’t be prouder of the way he turned out. He had the right stuff.”

If you are looking for other ways to get involved, The Hometown Foundation is looking for auction items that can include weekend getaways, box seat sporting tickets, concert tickets, etc. A portion of in-kind donations will be tax deductible.

Also available are executive underwriting opportunities starting at $500 as a décor sponsor up to $2,000 as a memorial bench sponsor. “This is an excellent way for an organization to receive community recognition for an important cause,” said Chris Sferruzzo, Executive Vice President of Finance at Bozzuto’s and Newtown resident.
