A very short history of the U.S.A
America was first inhabited for thousands of years by NativeAmericans that descended from indigenous tribes from Asia.
Christopher Columbus landed in America in 1492.
The United States gained its independence from Britain after fighting
the Revolutionary War. The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776.
In the 1860's the fight against slavery was fought between thenorthern and southern states in the Civil War. The Northern anti-slavery states won the war and freedom for African Americans.
The United States had important roles in both WWI and WWII.

The geography of the U.S.A is extremely varied.
There are mountains, forests, grasslands, deserts, marshes,
plains, volcanoes, etc. Appalachian Mountains, Great Lakes, Mississippi-Missouri River (4th largest
river), Rocky Mountains, Grand Canyon, Mojave Desert, Sierra Nevada
and Cascade Mountain Ranges, Volcanoes, Yellowstone National Park,
Mount McKinley (20,320ft, 6,194m) in Alaska is the tallest peak.
Colorado has fifty three 14,000 feet (4,300m) peaks
