inspiring to kids around the world and a heroine to kids everywhere. She has a marvels story that shows her troubles throughout life . Amelia Earhart has made her mark on America and is a heroine . Growing Up Childhood with Grandma Otis It was 1897 in Atchison, Kansas on July 24 where little Amelia Earhart was born. “Oh ,isn’t she just darling, why not name her Amelia Mary Earhart “.begged Amelia’s Grandma.

“Mother that sounds delightful". Mary Earhart announced .Little did they know Amelia wasn’t going to be delightful all the time. As she grew Amelia became

For example once Amelia built a rollercoaster she also jumped fences and played boy games like ball in the mud. “If Amelia is going to get dirty she might as well were bloomers”. Grandma Otis grouched.That’s just what she did. About six years later Amelia’s little sister Muriel came along . Following in her footsteps Muriel did just what Amelia did. Not Normal

Amelia’s life seemed peachy keen until she went to school.

A girl in the hall taunted Amelia . The room broke out in laughter. You see , people thought Amelia was crazy because she did things different from other girls .This didn’t bother Amelia one bit .She was proud of it. Why was Amelia reposing about this abomination ?

Because she got to do things other girls could only image! For example she(as I earlier stated ) built a rollercoaster in her back yard !AND IT EVEN WORKED! “What did you do and what are you wearing . Yelled Amelia’s snooty neighbor.

“First of all I’m wearing bloomers ,second of I’m building a roller-coaster “. Amelia answered.

Amelia knew she was considered improper and odd but she thought of it as a complement as she did her whole life.

Amelia was a mental challenge . Why ? Because of Edwin's “illness". Edwin's illness was he was unfortunately he was drunk . Soon Edwin’s habit grew. As it progressed Amelia and Muriel went away from home even more than usual. 6

Yes Muriel, there fine “. Amelia answered . About three months later Amelia and Muriel found out the big news . There parents were getting divorced .

This was devastating for Amelia. It seemed after the divorce life got even harder . Grandma and Grandpa Otis both died .The only good thing that came out of this was that in her will Grandma Otis left money for Amy , Muriel and Amelia .

This was the most dark time in Amelia ‘s life

Muriel Muriel Amelia was about twenty when she went to Canada with Muriel ,but life still wasn‘t easy because of World War 2 .Amelia felt she needed to help so as a result Amelia worked at a hospital Amelia as a nurse.

She talked to her mom about flying lessons . “Amelia I think this is too …dangerous for you.”Mary Earhart answered . “ NO MOM .”Amelia snapped.Amelia soon took flying lessons and started to fly in 1920 and got her license ! 10

The only time Amelia got to fly was with her flying teacher Neta Snook . Amelia wanted to do something big ! Amelia wanted to do fly across the .U.S. ,she planed and piloted till she thought she was ready. So in 1927

Amelia off in the Canary with fellow crew mates Harry Manning and Fred Noonan. Soon they set off across the .U.S.. The weather didn’t go easy on them .It seemed like the fog and the rain was fighting with Amelia.

It felt like months until she landed . Amelia had lost track of where she was. Soon they landed in a cabbage patch in Ireland .

Amelia deiced to sell her plane the Canary and to work at an orphanage . With almost all of her free time she went to see George Putman (a reporter that wrote about Amelia.).

Soon there was love in the air and the only problem was Sam Champion . Sam Champion was in love with Amelia too but Amelia held her ground and said “No”.

Amelia had thirst to prove everybody she was really Lady Lindy. Amelia soon found out about the air derby. She was going nuts when she entered . Amelia found one foil in her plan …. She didn’t have a plain that’s when she got the

Friendship . It was the day of the derby. Amelia wanted it so bad. “On your mark get set …GO”. Said the ref . Amelia took off with stealth.

Lady Lindy is what people called female flyer that were great .

She looked ahead. Two girls were in front of her. In the end Amelia ended where she started. In third.

AtlanticIt took five tries but Amelia did it . She accomplished the flight across the Atlantic. Amelia and

Fred took off in the friendship, but this time the weather wasn’t the only trouble. The other trouble was her engine was leaking. Amelia had to fix this. She climbed out of the cockpit and stopped it.

Weeks passed, till Amelia found land . She landed in a farm. Amelia was lost and the farmer was shocked when he was in the presents of Amelia. News spread . Now Amelia was even more famous

Amelia was getting ready to take what she didn’t know would be her last flight . She was going around the world . The take off in Las Vegas was horrible . “Here we go Fred .”
