COMPANY BACKGROUND

AME Communicate Ltd

Formed in November 2011 for the sole purpose of assisting those with a disability to become more independent by taking existing technology and adapting it, making it accessible to those with a disability.

AME decided to do this after seeing the increasing demand for the use of technology to be made accessible to those with a disability. Modern devices do come with certain features such as voice control and large font, however, you still need for example, some degree of sight to be able to use the device or need to have a certain level of understanding to be able to fully access the device.

AME Communicate solve issues like this and more as you will be able to see from our software. We don't just come up with the ideas and make them a reality but we actually speak to those who would be using the devices and software and put there ideas into it.

OUR US PARTNERS - COSY

Our US partners are a company based in the heart of Philidelphia called COSY and they specialise in robotics and AI.

COSY have designed the backend for this very unique navigation system for those with a visual impairment which is also suitable for numerous other types of disabilities.

COSY are attached to a very well known university and have use of a range of different types recourses which enable them to reach out to all sectors making COSY an ideal partner for AME Communicate.

OUR UK PARTNERS – OAKLEY MOBILE

Oakley mobile take an inspired approach to app development and deployment. Whether it's a standalone app or an end-to-end mobile campaign, their broad portfolio of integrated mobile solutions have the user front of mind.

Oakley have delivered cutting-edge app innovation through real-time mapping technologies, augmented reality and in-app video production. But it doesn't stop there.

As the mobile age evolves, user expectation grows too. Their continued research and development enables them to provide integrated mobile experiences that users want to return to.

AME SIGHT

The app initially captures an image of the document which can be magnified. The first improvement over existing solutions is that guidelines are placed over the image so that going from one line of text to the next is much easier. Additional functionality that is not available in other products are that the document can be saved to be read later or sent by email.

The next thing that the app does that completely distinguishes it from existing solutions is that the image is processed with an OCR (optical character recognition) engine and converted to pure text.

The user of the app can switch between viewing the original image or pure text. If viewing just text the font size, text colour and background colour can be changed to suit the user’s level of impairment.

Finally the biggest improvement over existing solutions is that the text can be read to the user and the app can be controlled completely by spoken commands. This is a unique functionality that is not available in any competing product and opens the app to users with more severe visual impairment than any existing product.

For electronic communications the app includes a web browser that enables the user to have text read back by tapping the text on screen.

AME TRANSLATEAME Emergency Translate is a smart phone/tablet app to allow any organisation to access an instant translation service.

The app will have a built in custom vocabulary of pre-recorded audio allowing questions to be asked in over fifty languages.

The interviewee's response is translated using voice recognition and an automated translation service. A transcript of the conversation in both languages is presented in the app and can be stored for later reference and audit.

For occasions that are outside of the pre-recorded vocabulary the app can contact an on-line interpreter and commence a video conference.

The app is cost effective for both parties. For the interpreter there is no need to spend time travelling (which can often be a greater duration the paid interpretation time) and for the customer they can employ an interpreter for the minimum time needed.

Custom vocabularies can be built upon request and an app prepared with a lead time of approximated 3 months.

AME HEAR

AME Hear is a smart phone/tablet app to assist the deaf in communicating with those who do not know or understand sign language as a means of communication.

The app will have a built in vocabulary of pre-recorded video allowing the person in conversation to pick a sentence from a menu and the app user will see a video of the phrase being signed.

For occasions when accurate interpretation is essential, the app can contact an on-line interpreter and conduct a video-conference. This offers advantages to both the interpreter and customer.

For the interpreter, there is no need to spend time travelling (which can often be a greater duration the paid interpretation time) and for the customer they can employ an interpreter for the minimum time needed.

The vocabulary is currently being finalised for the interpreter videos to be made, otherwise the app has been completed and it is estimated that it will be ready for release by March 2015.

AME NAVIGATE

This is a very different type of navigation system which not only navigates a user through a building but also is able to read text to the user such as room numbers, signs, printed information and any other type of text which the camera sees.

The application automatically downloads the map of the building once the user is about to enter the building and will allow the user to tell the app where the user wishes to be and will navigate the user to the destination and will also read signs to the user.

This type of technology is not only for those with little or no sight but can also be used with those who suffer with dyslexia, Alzheimer’s and other memory difficulties.

We are also currently working on a number of other technologies which will be made public soon and we can promise that again, what we bring out will be something that will change people’s lives for the better.

SUSTAINABILITY

The following pages demonstrate that we are able to sustain all of the technology soluations which we offer even from just a single application.

We have provide the figures for AME Sight which is our lead application and the lowest costing soluation.

All of our technology has been tried and tested and our biggest buyer so far is The BBC who currently use AME sight and are placing another order for the application and also for our translation application.

OUR NUMBERS FOR AME SIGHT

In the UK, there are currently 3,000,000 people with a visual impairment who struggle to interact with written media on paper or on the web. The AME sight solution has been developed to assist these people to read text that would otherwise be impossible to do so.

Our licensing model is based around £10 per user per month, with no up-front costs other than hardware.

We aim to reach in the first 3 years 0.1% of this market through PR and marketing, which would equate to 30,000 people.

1st Year - 2,0002nd Year - 10,0003rd Year - 30,000

After 3 years the numbers would be £10 X 30,000 = £300,000 per month X 12 months = £3,600,000.

• At £3.6 million turnover per annum, there is a very profitable business as costs would be minimal other than the 30% payable to Apple on the licensing.

• Our expected costs in this period would be:

• Sales & Marketing person - £ 30,000.00• MD - £ 50,000.00• Technical Director - £ 40,000.00• Support x 2 - £ 60,000.00• Commission - £1,080,000.00• Premises - £ 30,000.00

• Total Costs - £1,200,000.00

• Net profit expectation in year 3 = £2.4 million.

• If the business was valued at only 3 x NP (low valuation for this type of business) then 10% would be worth £720,000 which is a good return for a £50,000 investment.
