Healing Ministry Week -9th-15th Feb 2014

Praise the Lord o my soul all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord o my soul and forget not all his benefit Ps.103:1, 2. We thank almighty God for enabling us to celebrate healing ministry week this year. We also thank God for CMAI and its ministry towards harvest of healing. This year we had wonderful programs during healing ministry week. The theme was “Women-Leaders in Healing Ministry”. All the women leaders and women Staff of AMC and women Presbyterians involved in all activities.

Day-1. Monday 10/2/2014

Healing ministry week began with morning devotion. We all gathered next to the chapel for the combined service. Local church Presbyterian Rev. Vimala Peter preached on the given topic.

“Women’s faith: A source of healing and wholeness”. Women plays major role in the family to build

or to destroy. Every woman should be women of faith and prayer. Morning service was closed with prayer followed by combined breakfast.

We had medical camp in Pothapolu Day Care Centre in the evening. Dr. B. Wesley Director, Dr. K Benny, Staff and few Nursing students of AMC participated in the medical camp. 150 patients came for the health check up and free medicine distributed for all the patients.

Students of College of Nursing and School of Nursing had Bible quiz competition in the evening. The tutors conducted the bible quiz programme. Students were divided in to four houses. Prizes were distributed to the

runner and winner. All the participators received the consolation prizes.

Day-2. Tuesday 11/2/2014

We had combined service at College of Nursing. Mrs. Jalaja Prasad preached on given topic “Women and Men: Partners in the Healing Ministry”. God created.

men and women in the image of God. Both have equal responsibility to preach the kingdom of God. Women oppressed in the society especially in the Indian context; women should take bold step to fight for their rights. Second day closed with prayer and c ombined breakfast.

Students of College and School of Nursing had Rangoli competition in the School of Nursing. Students participated actively in the competition. Prizes given to the best Rangoli.

Evening 3.00pm-6.00pm student and staff together had campus cleaning. All the students cleaned the surrounding wards and departments.

Day-3. Wednesday 12/2/2014

Staff and students of AMC gathered in front of Administration block for the morning devotion. On this special day the Presbyterian in charge of mydkur CSI Church Rev. A N Premaltha preached. She focused on the Old Testament women and New Testament women in the bible. Women were not counted in the bible. It was written by men. Women were not accepted socially. But in the New Testament, good news the women first. We remembered the CMAI day of prayer .

Dr. B Wesley Director shared about CMAI and prayer points to pray. We had intercessory prayer for the CMAI Staff and their families.

Staff of AMC visited the sick and suffering people in and around the campus and shared their love with them. Fruits and gifts were distributed to the all the sick people.

Day-4. Thursday 13/2/2014

Combined service conducted in Community Care Centre. Mrs. Sorojini the Compassion coordinator preached the word of God. Topic “Violence against women: facing Challenges”. She focused on the

suffering of the women. Women have been abused physically and sexually. It is great challenge to eradicate the violence against women.

We had medical camp for the prisoners in the Madanapalle sub jail. 120 prisoners have gone through medical check up and received free medicine. We are thankful to the Jail Superintendent Mr. Venu Gopal Reddy.

Evening, Staff and students of the AMC went to prison to share good news and also to understand the pain of the prisoners. Pr. K Lazar Danam and Mr. D Moses preached the good news. Fruits were distributed to the prisoners.

Day-5. Friday 14/2/2014

Combined service conducted in compassion project. Mrs. Snehalatha Das (the Staff of AMC) preached the word of God. Topic “Women and Health: Our roles and responsibility. Health is not only refer to the physical fitness but also refers to Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual. God created us to be perfect and healthy.

On this special day the institution organized the retreat

for the Staff. 60 senior Staff attended the retreat and received the God’s blessings. Dr. B Wesley was main resource person. He spoke on life of women leaders and their contribution in the society. He spoke II Kings chapter 5 about unnamed captive girl from Israel. We should be channel of blessings as small captive girl has become blessing to Naaman. She became part of healing ministry. Her name was not mentioned or nor any one thanked her. He spoke also about prophet Debora who became judge to Israel. We should take bold steps to make decision in the time of crisis.

Dean, College of Nursing Mrs. Sheela Wesley spoke about practical issues related to the women like starting prayer cells and pray for the institution, for which she said that we have to select women leaders to organize the programmes.

Dr. Nelson and Dr. Kanthi Raj spoke about women leaders in the society. They threw some points related to the women and encouraged women leaders to come forward. Group Discussion: participators divided in to fivee groups and given questions for discussion.

Combined lunch was arranged on the retreat day.

All members participated actively in the group discussion. The best 1st and 2nd groups got the prizes and all the members received consolation prizes. Retreat closed with vote of thanks and prayer.

Day-6. Saturday 15/2/2014

Combined service conducted in open place near Rock of ages. Dr. K Asha preached the word of God. Topic “Women as channels of change in healing ministry”. Voice of a girl from Israel, voice of Esther, voice of Mary Magdalene and Virgin Mary. Even though people may not identify us as blessings but still we need to serve God. God will defenitely reward us for our work.

Management of College and School of Nursing organized Lamp lighting and Capping ceremony for the freshers. The freshers dedicated their lives for the service of humanity and pledged to be a committed Nursess.Mrs. Inger Munk from Denmark was the Chief Guest and Mrs. Marianne from Denmark was the Guest of honour for the programme. Cultural programme by the students has taken place after the lamp lighting ceremony.

Day-7. Sunday 16/2/2014

On Healing Ministry Sunday we had procession from the Chapel to St. Luke CSI Church

,

Arogyavaram. Staff of AMC and students went to St. Like church and participated in the service. Mrs. Aruna Jeevan preached on theme “ Women-Leaders in Healing Ministry”. Sin entered through woman and solution came through women. We should recognize the role of woman in the community, in the church and in the family. We closed healing ministry week With the Holy Communion service.

We thank God for enabling us to celebrate the Healing Ministry this year. It was a great blessing to the Students and Staff. We hope that God will help us to go ahead with this great ministry in the coming years also. All glory to God Almighty. Amen
