WORK IMPACT

Now people in Maluku (the communities we assisted) understand and realize that it is very important to live in a peaceful environment

Those who participated in our workshops and discussions now understand how to deal with --or to solve-- problems in non provocative and non violence ways

Now we have network in whole world (whose representatives participated in our workshop and discussions

CHALLENGES

A continuous and smooth communication is very important, and must always be maintained.Very limited income of the people in the communities/villages, where most people are jobless

There are still sources of conflict among others, such as land borders, and addiction to alcohol

There are still trauma, prejudice in each other

Page 14: AMBON Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), Ms. Onya Debi Sriyanti Ely

OUR WEAKNESSES

It was not easy to get people who are willing to commit themselves to work for peace

It was not easy to making mutual understanding after conflict between Moslem and Christian

Page 15: AMBON Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), Ms. Onya Debi Sriyanti Ely

ACHIEVEMENTS

The people in the communities/villages are eager to live in peaceThe people in the communities/villages are willing to be agents of peaceIn general, the people of Ambon and another country like to help others, although sometimes it was hard to encourage them to work together with each other

We have spirit, idea, commitment to be a peace maker wherever we are because We Are We Word

Page 16: AMBON Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), Ms. Onya Debi Sriyanti Ely

PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

1. Sustainable/continuous village/group/community discussions

2. To make the communities work together in social events like cultural shows (peace through culture), in other voluntary social works

3. To continue the Conflict Management Workshops

Page 17: AMBON Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), Ms. Onya Debi Sriyanti Ely

We realized that there are many young people we haven’t touched, many youth in trauma and resiliency  need to be rescued and many effort need to put forward to prevent and to create an immune community to future conflict.

Because YOU ARE YOU WORD

that generation to generation. We are nothing, we are unable, we cannot afford to

repay what you all have done to us, but believe that we always pray for the Uniting Church, for its congregations and all your efforts, and for all of you who are willing to share from what you have, with us and with those who
