AMBERCotton Mills LimitedThe Nature we WearThe production and processing of natural fibers worldwide employs hundreds of millions of people, particularly in developing countries. Cotton alone generates billions of dollars in economic activity as it moves from production at the farm level through processing and retail. Cotton is often referred to as “the fabric of our lives”. We come in contact with items made from cotton every day. The clothes we wear, the sheets we sleep on, the diapers we put on our babies are made with cotton. But growing conventional cotton has a negative environmental impact and presents health risks for those working around it and wearing it. It’s better for the land, the farm workers and consumers’ well being to choose organic cotton always.

Cotton Mills LimitedAmber Cotton Mills Limited took up the initiative to produce organic cotton back in 1996. Organically grown cotton is free from pesticides, herbicides and other cytotoxins. Organic cotton produced by Amber Cotton Mills Limited is thus environment friendly and sustainable.

AMBERBoards and Doorsstriving towards a greener Bangladesh

What is the use of a house if we don't have a decent planet to put it on? We do not inherit this planet from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children. And we are responsible to save it for them!Environment friendly or ‘green’ materials are becoming more widely used as our society becomes aware of harmful consequences associated with the use of standard practices in industrial production. Amber Board Mills Limited takes upon the responsibility of using earth’s resources in a sustainable manner, thus improving resource management, trimming ‘NO’ forest, and continuing using alternative materials.Particleboard was introduced in the 1940s in Germany and the United States. It has undergone significant growth in production since the 1960s and, due to its low manufacturing cost, and high quality it is still in the forefront of construction design today.

Boards and Doors

Boards and DoorsParticleboard is made out of wood-based fibers bound together using a formaldehyde resin. The desired thickness is achieved by using a hot press that forms the board into sheets. Particleboard comes with homogenous structure and is manufactured in different sizes, thickness, densities and grades for numerous uses, making it a desirable material with which to work.

The best friend on earth of man is the tree. When we use the tree respectfully and economically, we have one of the greatest resources on the earth.

In Bangladesh, Amber Board Mills Limited has taken particle-board to a different height. It has successfully made it a ‘Lifestyle’ product, which is being used commonly now for doors, furniture, cabinetry, tabletops, shelving, wall and floor panels, and other non-structural architectural applications.

Walking with the flow, Amber also believes in comfort in wear, along with fashion; producing denim of highest comfort, keeping the trends of the blue fiber alive.Amber Group runs two denim industries in Gazipur, Amber Denim Limited and Amber Denim Mills Limited, operating from 2006 and 2012 respectively.Looking back at the pages of history, the fabric originated in the French town of Nimes and owes its name to the location, which was quickly known as ‘denim’. After more than a century of its innovation, today, the wide consumption of denim by fashion connoisseurs globally has created a new opportunity. Bangladesh is the second largest exporter of the fabric globally, Amber Denim being the largest denim fabric producer of the country now.

AMBERITYour access to the globe

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

Imagine a world where there is no information, no communication and no Internet! Today, indeed, the world without Internet is like a library without books! The Internet has, merely within a decade, following the global trend, completely revolutionized the way things are done in Bangladesh today. Everything, from shopping, learning and even starting and promoting businesses has experienced paradigm shifts due to the Internet.

In 1989 the first Internet Service Providers (ISPs) were established in Australia, and the United States. In Bangladesh, the first Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) base data circuit was commissioned in June 1996 and the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) granted licenses to two Internet Service Providers (ISPs). In subsequent years more liberal government policies led to a rapid expansion of this industry.

Amber IT is another venture from Amber which is successfully providing internet facilities to local and national industries all over the country since its establish-ment in 1997. It’s a BTRC licensed company, which holds a proud reputation of one stop communication service provider amongst the diverse industries of Bangladesh.
