Amanda Seyfried Gallery

Amanda Michelle Seyfried was born in Pennsylvania on December 3, 1985. Her heritage is German. When she was 10, she went with her father to see Romeo + Juliet and then decided she wanted to become an actress. To achieve her goal, Seyfried started a career as a model at the age of 11. At that time, Amanda also had a love for Leonardo DiCaprio and probably figured that becoming an actress

was going to be her way to meet him.

Seyfried was quoted as saying that she was naturally skinny and had braces, and she admits to being not that pretty, but being a model was a fun experience,

and she got a nice paycheck with she used to buy sweets. At 15, she started her acting career, having acquired roles on the daytime soaps As the World Turns and All My Children. At 17, she terminated her career as a model and started

taking voice lessons.

In 2003, Amanda graduated from high school, after having missed around 70 days of school during senior year because of her acting commitments. In 2004,

instead of attending Fordham University in New York, as she wanted, Amanda had her theatrical debut in the film Mean Girls, in which she starred as Karen Smith. She initially auditioned to play the role of Regina George and had also been considered for the role of Cady Heron, but she ended up with the role of Karen Smith. She then went on to pictures such as Alpha Dog and Nine Lives

and television series such as Veronica Mars. She originally tried out for the lead role for that show, but eventually, she was picked to be a different character. Her portrayal as Lilly Kane was so compelling, they used Seyfried more times than

they initially planned.

In 2009, Seyfried was cast as the role of Savannah Curtis in the movie Dear John. She also wrote one of the songs for the soundtrack. The film relates the

story of a soldier making his way back home to reunite with his sweetheart during the waning days of the American Civil War. Later in 2009, People Magazine

voted Seyfried one of the most beautiful people in their special issues.

In 2010, Amanda appeared as the title character in the theatrical film Chloe, release by Sony Pictures Classics. The role in that film got her favorable remarks

from critics. Then, in 2011, she was ranked #1 on People Magazine’s list of 25 Beauties at 25.

Seyfried’s most recent film will be Les Miserables, which she states is her most favorite musical, having seen the Broadway production while she was in high

school. This theatrical film will be released later in the year (2012).

When not acting, Amanda Seyfried lends her image to other noteworthy roles. To give you an example, she appeared on the cover of three Francine Pascal books.

She was also dressed up as Alice of Alice in Wonderland for a special spread in the Italian Vogue Magazine. If it wasn’t for her acting career, Amanda says she

would have probably gone into meteorology.
