Selling Platform 7.2 – Functional Release Note

1. OVERVIEW

Amadeus is pleased to present Selling Platform version 7.2P120 the leading point of sale solution for travel professionals.

Amadeus Selling Platform is still the world’s most used retailing application designed for travel professionals to increase revenues, work more efficiently and improve customer service. More than just a traditional front-office system, Amadeus Selling Platform can integrate any mid and back office application with the point of sale. This year's flagship release brings you:

• Industry evolution with Electronic Miscellaneous Documents

• Click to book - in preparation for Cars and Hotels banners

• Faster installation, easier accessibility and better portability

• Prices within seat maps

• ...and more!

1.1 BASELINE ENHANCEMENTS

11..11..11 TTIICCKKEETTIINNGG

Ticketing has been enhanced with the implementation of Amadeus EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) to replace the current MCO, Automated MCO, Virtual MCO and Electronic MCO within two years. EMD is also available whilst performing Amadeus Ticket Changer flows. Note: Activation of the features will be completed in the server release of March 2012 and in a server service pack in May 2012. More details for schedule in Switzerland will follow. Another beneficial feature and time saving option for the travel agents is the possibility to re-issue a non- flown ticket an unlimited number of times, as long as the fare remains the same as in previous re-issues. For partially used tickets only one re-issue is authorised. Lastly, selection of specific tickets associated to a passenger and segment in the Ticket Changer input panel is now allowed.

11..11..22 PPNNRR

It is now possible to access the ancillary services catalogue directly from the command page, so that agents who work in cryptic don’t have to switch to graphical mode first. In order to always improve the ancillary services catalogue, it is now possible to refresh pricing directly within the catalogue and notify the agent of the price change. Moreover, with Selling Platform 7.2, agents can also keep control of the commercial relationship with clients and ensure their customer’s privacy by restricting access to the email contact provided in the PNR. The improved PNR GUI allows you to book SVCs (i.e. services not related to a PNR flight segment) as part of a cross-channel initiative within Amadeus to prepare for the transition from MCO to EMD.

11..11..33 AAIIRR && FFAARREESS

The travel agent will have different headers when his search for flight takes into account the Air

preferences set by his agency. This will allow the agent to make sure these Agency preferences are

applied.

Travel agencies are now able to find Corporate Fares by using Corporate Names, making the

identification of these fares more ‘user friendly’.

11..11..44 CCAARRSS && HHOOTTEELLSS

Starting with Selling Platform 7.2, the former Cars and Hotels graphical tabs are no longer available for deployment via Web Config. Cars Plus and Hotels Plus are now the only Cars and Hotels graphical interfaces of Selling Platform. In Cars Plus, mask rates (negotiated rates between travel agencies and Car Providers, without any total price indication) are now available.

11..11..55 MMEEDDIIAA SSOOLLUUTTIIOONNSS

1.1.5.1 Support of DFA cmd in SpeedMode Flight Availability/Schedule

It was noticed that agents were not familiar with the cryptic DFA flight information request entry, so it became necessary to enable them to double-click on the flight feature in the command page to access the relevant information. An agent now has the possibility to generate the flight feature information automatically through the speed mode double-click in the AN or SN display in the command page, thus replacing the DFA entry.

1.1.5.2 Banner at Sell time

At sell time, the agent is prompted by an advertisement that will enable him to up-sell or cross-sell something relevant to the client, (hotel room, car rental, etc…). This banner is relevant to the content entered during the booking process and takes into consideration dates, places and special offers.

1.1.5.3 Click to Book

If an agent is interested in an advertisement, either the one displayed at sell time, or the one in the header available through mouse-over, he can simply click on the banner and the service advertised is automatically searched for. The aim here is to reduce the number of clicks or entries and focus on an agent’s productivity.

1.2 PRODUCT OPTIONS ENHANCEMENTS

11..22..11 AALLLL FFAARREESS

Travel agencies are now able to distinguish EU Blacklisted carriers thanks to a flag displayed in the list of recommendations and in the calendar view.

Following the industry mandate to support up to 99 taxes ticket, the graphic e-ticket display of Selling Platform has been enhanced Following IATA requirements, the graphical e-ticket display of Selling Platform has been enhanced to support up to 99 taxes. The tax window has been modified to support up to 99 lines for each of the 99 taxes of the ticket. Please refer to Figure 1.

Enable the users to issue tickets and documents in one combined entry This feature integrates the possibility to combine issuance for Invoice and E-ticket and MCO/VMCO/EMCO/EMD in one entry. In the case of issuance for an EMD market as additional document in exchange, users have to issue passenger by passenger and ticket by ticket.

Possibility to re-issue an unused ticket an unlimited number of times. Allow selection of specific tickets associated to a passenger and segments in ticket changer input panel. This requirement gains flexibility for the agents with the possibility to re-issue an unused ticket an unlimited number of times. This feature allows for wholly unused tickets - unlimited number of reissues can be allowed provided that the current fare has been used in previous reissues. For partially used tickets, only one reissue is authorized as additional attempts will be rejected. The passenger can be associated to several tickets. The agent needs to select a specific ticket associated to a passenger to re-issue it multiple times and also to select segment to re-price. Please refer to Figure 10.

2.2.1.1 Description

When users enter contact details, at the end of each row, there is an icon that allows the user to add more options depending on the contact type.

The following icon is displayed: and by default it is greyed out. If the selected contact type is: “Customer – e-mail (APE)” and if the “Information” field is filled in, the icon becomes available. When the user clicks on it, a pop-up window appears:

Figure 3. After clicking on the specific icon, a pop-up to restrict access to the APE element is displayed

2.2.1.2 The office masks

The end user can enter up to three office masks. By default, when no office masks are entered, the email address can be accessed in read&modify mode. As soon as one office mask is entered, the email address becomes inaccessible, except for the offices with access granted. There is a checkbox that allows the end user to restrict the email access only to the current office. When this option is checked, the other parameters are greyed out. An office mask is composed of:

• The office ID mask:

It is an office ID that is 9 characters long and can contain wildcards. A wildcard is represented by the star character (*). It can be included anywhere in the Office ID instead of an alphanumeric character. The wildcard can be replaced by any alphanumeric characters. Example: NCE****** It refers to the offices: NCEA11111, NCEA11112, NCEB11111, … In all the offices the IDs of which match the mask, the travel agents are allowed to view the email address according to the security level specified.

• The security level:

It can be: “Read only” or “Read & modify”. With the “read” agreement level, the travel agents of the offices concerned can see the email addresses displayed in the whole PNR tab and also, in the PNR history and in all related printouts and feeds. With the “write” agreement level, they are able to modify the email addresses.

• The “extend to EOS agreement offices” option:

Distribution Product Management 11

When the “extend to EOS agreement offices” option is checked, the travel agents of offices that have an EOS agreement with the offices that match the mask are also allowed to view the email address according to the security level specified. As a consequence, the authorized offices can see the confidential e-mail addresses displayed as any classic address everywhere the address is displayed. Example: APE [email protected]. The other offices see: “APE RESTRICTED” instead in the PNR, PNR History, and all related print outs and feeds The authorized offices are:

- The offices that have the “read only” or “read & modify” access.

- The offices that have an EOS agreement with an office that has the “read only” or “read & modify” access.

When the access is “read & modify”, the address can also be changed.

Possibility to access the AAS catalogue directly from the command page (triggered with the FXK* entry). Amadeus Selling Platform already displays the catalogue from the graphical display. It is now possible to access the graphical catalogue through the cryptic command page. This feature is not ready yet for Switzerland as no airline launched Ancillary Services yet for the Swiss market. Further information will follow as soon as available.

2.2.2.1 Display of the Catalogue from the command page

When an agent enters the command FXK in the cryptic display, the graphical catalogue appears and an agent can add the services required directly from this catalogue.

The European Commission requires that Airlines blacklisted by the European Commission must be flagged in all Amadeus Air responses for information. This includes All Fares display for both GDS and non-GDS. The flag for black listed airlines is now displayed in the All Fares Calendar and Recommendation displays for GDS content. The NON GDS blacklisted airlines will not be returned at all. A link to open an external url is provided with the legend to access the list of blacklisted airlines (e.g. http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/list_en.htm for English).

The availability of mask rates in Cars Plus is not changing the current Cars Plus workflow, whether for availability search or for booking. However, it is impacting all the screens, as this new type of rate needs to be clearly identified. In all the screens, mask rates are identified with a tooltip indicating that the rate has no estimated price:

Figure 12. ‘No estimated price’ tool tip

This tooltip is present at all steps and in every screen (availability view, listing view, category view, map view), and in the price breakdown for all screens. Note on filtering: A checkbox can be visible under the price filter. If this checkbox is ticked, the mask rates will be displayed in the results. If this checkbox is unchecked, the mask rates will not be displayed in the results.

Figure 13. Price filter and check box

(When only mask rates are available on a given search, the price filter is hidden; only the checkbox appears). As mask rates have no estimated price, when the results are filtered by price, the mask rates will be shown at the end of the list.

Agents can now access the flight information by double clicking on the flight features rather than having to enter the DFA command. It improves efficiency, productivity enabling the agent to access the flight information faster and better communicate to the client. Until now the agent needed to enter the command DFA in the cryptic display to access the flight features information. It became clear that many agents were not even aware of this command and therefore information was not communicated to the client. Agents can now use speed mode and double click on the flight feature to access this information:

Agents will be notified of an interesting offer which takes into consideration the booking just sold. Agents typically book an air segment first before booking anything else. Non-air providers (hotel, car, etc…) are therefore very keen to advertise once an air booking has been confirmed. This feature will display an advertising message following the sale of an air segment using the booking information. In addition to the criteria used in current implementation of Amadeus Banners (origin, destination, departure date, return date…), the following ones are added: Frequent traveller, Ticketed currency, Class of service

The advertising message is displayed in Selling Platform in the forms of: Text banner in the Command Page / Banner with text and/or graphic image as it is already implemented in the Air tab settings.

Figure 15. Banner at Sell Time

Agents will be able to double click on a banner that interests them (or the client) and book the object advertised.

The click to book feature enables travel agents to click on a graphical banner / Advertising message and then have the opportunity to book the product directly (for example a hotel room or a car reservation).

A clickable and clearly identifiable link / button (with the text “Click to Book” or “Book”) will be displayed in the pop-up window following the click on the Banner to prompt the travel agent to trigger the booking process.

Note that two links / buttons will be displayed in the pop-up window to let the travel agent decide if he wants to trigger the booking process in Command Page or in Graphic:

“Click to Book / Book in Command Page” “Click to Book / Book in Graphic”

Agents will be able to book non-GDS content that comes from aggregators through Hotels Plus. In a first step Transhotel and Destination of the World (DOTW) will be available later HRS. To access non-GDS content, you must first identify and register with each aggregator. You can enable or disable a specific aggregator at any time using the Aggregator pop-up window that is launched from the Search page. In the non-GDS environment, all bookings are in a prepaid model (beside HRS).
