“The FLYHT afirs™ 220 system is a valid option for consideration within the OPTIMI project as being universally available to civil and military operators within reasonable timeframes…

Such systems are operational with over 25 operators worldwide, all of whom are realizing significant savings to their operations while improving their operational control and awareness by knowing the aircraft location and status at all times. The system requires no additional ground infrastructure to be developed or set up by the operator. The operating costs are also very economical with the amount of data transmitted controllable by the operator.”

AMA on the TSXAMA on the TSX--VVAerCap

“Good news for the Airbus A320 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion program, AerCap has at last landed a launch operator in the form of West Atlantic. The recently formed Anglo-Swedish cargo airline has signed for the lease of up to seven aircraft from AerCap.

Deliveries start in 2012 to West Atlantic, which will see it become the A320P2F launch operator by taking an initial three aircraft on lease from AerCap. It has the option to take four more aircraft by 2015.

AerCap signed a deal to be the P2F launch customer two years ago, but then the freight market collapsed so it has had a hard time finding any takers for the aircraft.”
