This design is a personal favorite of mine. Considered to be my first “official” graphic design piece, it visually captures my belief of the human mind. My interest in psychology, science, and art have been major influences in the creation of the design.

Design of influences and inspirations in what made me become an artist and graphic de-signer. Growing up, I have always had a strong interest in art and science. I decided to use a theme of duality from my interest in art and science, and further visually show additional various themes such as, digital art and fine art, and the organic and the inorganic.

Design for the electronic music festival Synched! My goal was to create a fun and festive design by incoporating a robot to appeal to humor and the electronic music genre.

Volunteered to design an Announcement and an Invitation for the graduation of Jasmine Pablo, RN. Client specifications were to make both, using hues of blue. The announcement was designed to create an appeal of elegance and prestige, while the invitation was to focus visually on her love of her profession.

Flyer designed to promote for the Progressive Care Unit’s annual Christmas party. Concept for the flyer was to become festive through the use of typography, applying the feelings and thoughts that are evoked from Christmas and parties into an ornamental wreath.

Designed logo, business card, and letterhead for a local “mom and pop” Barber Shop business. Design was to give a traditional sense to their identity using a serif typeface, traditional colors, and a centered style layout.

Re-design of the brand identity for the Virginia Apples Organization. My target was to create Virginia Apples as a healthy, home-grown product, appealing to local Virginians and health conscious people. Promotional materials include business card, letterhead, and various stickers.

Poster designed for ODU Visiting Artist Program featuring Korean graphic designer, Hoseob Yoon. Hoseob Yoon dedicates his life in saving the environment and is a professor at Kookmin University, in which he teaches Green Design. My focus in designing the poster was to echo professor Yoon’s work into the poster. The entire poster is handmade out of leaves, recycled paper, and eco-friendly glue and paint.

Portfolio Night Spring 2010 Poster(2010) 18”x 24”Poster designed to promote the ODU Graphic Design Program’s Portfolio Night. My goal was to make something fun and visually eye-catching. With Portfolio Night being something some students my stress over or be fearful of, I wanted the design to make everyone feel motivated to do well and have fun with it. While competing with the entire senior class, my poster was chosen to represent the event.

The design of this booklet was to respectfully highlight the life of Audrey Hepburn. The book focuses on three main aspects of her life; an Actress, a Style icon, and a Humanitarian.

This poster was designed for the ODU Visiting Art-ist Program which featured graphic designer, Martin Venezky. Working on this poster was a collaborative effort involving graphic design colleagues, Shawn Staggs, Samantha McLanagan, and professor Jiwon Lee. The poster involved creating handmade textures of letter cut-outs into cat silhouettes. Each cat was designated a specific letter to spell out Martin. My contributions included the photography andillustration of the cats, and creating the textures for the letters N and R.

The poster was selected to be featured in the 2nd Annual ODU Student Juried Art Exhibition.

Honestly, I never took pride into ODU school spirit ever since I transfered from Tidewater Community College. Many things about the school just angers me, where I refuse to buy the university’s logo shirts. The only thing that I am truly proud of at ODU is our Art Department, and our professors. I designed two shirts to generally represent the Art Department through a sketch drawing, and a mixed media collage. Also, I designed a three-part series of “bum shirts” as a inside joke within the department. My conception was to show that though, the Art Department is underfunded compared to other academic departments, we still take pride in it.

Poster designed for ODU Visiting Artist Program for harp+silver presented by a collaboration between the University Theatre and the ODU Art Department. The poster was designed for a visual-techno-logic interactive play titled Fruit Machine. My concept for the poster was to connect the meaning of Fruit Machine with the essence of themes within the play. The main focus was to create a visual pun for the viewer and cause controversy from explicitness.

In volunteering to design the poster and postcard for the event, I decided to collaborate with graphic design colleague Peter Theilen, who was an excellent illustrator. Acting as the art director, my idea was to depict a medieval “judgement day” in which students entering would be subjected to be “saved” into the gallery or casted into “ODU Art hell.” We decided to pay homage to Herinomous Boshes’s Garden of Earthly Delights to illustrate and push the idea further. To make it more appealing for the students and staff, we decided to portray some of our professors, relating their personalities to their characters and adding medieval art figures relating to our art department.

Re-design of Kasugai Gummy Candies to a western-culture market. The original package focused on high-quality photographs of the fruit that the gummy was flavored as. My concept in re-designing the package was to keep the focus on the deliciousness of the gummy, but actually create a visual out of the gummies themselves. My process focused on sculpting layouts of the gummy that portrayed features in respect to the particular fruits form.

Campaign designed for a concept band. Pieces include, the actual CD album, album release poster, and promotional band stickers. The campaign was visually designed to capture the music genre of a piano-based house/dance style.
