W h e n I was yo u n g e r i h a d t h i s n i g h t l i g h t . . .It was in the shape of a tea kettle. I remember laying in my
bed every night watching the warm, yellow glow before I fell
asleep. Something about that night light intigued me because I
would find myself bringing my other toys to that corner to play.

I wanted to find out what it is about lights that intrigued kids.
The Design Criteria
Are they captivated by the movement of light?
Do they enjoy casting shadows with light?
Does having light around make them feel safe at night?
How can they have fun with light?

Why is it so difficult to park bikes?
People want to feel safe knowing their bike is okay where they left it.
A cluster of overcrowding
bikes at one parking spot.
Very poor lighting when
parking your bike at night.
Bike theft is prevalent.

Due to classrooms increasing in size, teachers are unable to keep track of how
each student is progressing. Also, they must take into account that students have
different learning capabilities and some may not understand the lesson like the
majority of the class.
