strengths and Opportunities and addressing weaknesses and threats on your resume?


Strengths

• These are your Key Selling points!– Think of what makes you special. What

influences and motivates you? What are your attributes for success?

– Must be targeted to the job/industry you are interviewing for.

– Typical Questions: • What will you accomplish in your first 60 days? • Why are you the best person for the job? • Describe a difficult work situation/project and how you overcame it.


Weaknesses• These can be negative areas you may

need to improve on– Don't avoid discussing weaknesses– Do talk about how you recognize that

weakness, and how you work to minimize/overcome that weakness

– Typical Questions: • What is the biggest criticism you received from your boss?• Tell me about something you would have done differently at work. • How do you handle failure?


Opportunities

• Positive external conditions you can take advantage of.– Talk about various opportunities you foresee in that

prospective job. This will show your interest and reflect a positive attitude.

– Where is the company weak or poised to grow, how can you fill a need in the company?
