New School Due to the growth in the Alton Community the Ministry of Education has approved the new Alton Village Catholic Elementary School to be built north of Dundas Street.

• January 12th Open House/Community Information Meeting was held at St. Elizabeth Seton School
• 100 - 125 people attended the Open House/Community Information Meeting where the SBRC reviewed the process, criteria and options
• Following the SBRC’s presentation, the floor was opened for parents to ask questions/comments
• Approximately 35 parents spoke at the Open House and a total of approximately 45 written comments were received

• All three Interim Boundary Options were perceived as essentially the same option
• Why was only one area considered for redirection and why were other areas not an option for redirection?
• Move only the students for the new Alton Village School and keep the St. Christopher and St. Elizabeth Seton School boundaries as is
• Community requested to see additional school boundary options involving the school attendance area North of Dryden Avenue and West of Orchard Road

• Option #1 was selected as the most preferred option of the three Interim Options
• To respond to the community feedback the SBRC requested an extension of time from the Board to complete its mandate

Conclusion
After much discussion and reflection, the SBRC unanimously determined to recommend Option #1 to the Trustees as it best met the School Boundary Review Criteria, would keep neighbourhoods together and provided equal distribution of the student enrolment between schools

That, effective for the 2013/2014 school year, the school attendance area boundary for the new Alton Village Catholic Elementary School will include the area north of Dundas Street, west of Tremaine Road and south of Highway No. 407

That, the current Grade 6 students enrolled at St. Christopher and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Elementary Schools be allowed to remain at their existing school for their 2013/2014 graduation school year, however transportation will not be provided if applicable
