What is Wind Power? Conversion of Wind Energy into a useful form of

Scope in PakistanPakistan has the potential of producing approximately

150,000MW of wind energy, says a recent United States Agency for International Development (USAID) report.

The fair category of wind speed in most parts of the world is between 6.2m/s and 6.9m/s. However, the wind speed in the Sindh corridor is stronger and stands in the category of 7.5m/s and 7.7m/s. The government plans to achieve up to 2,500MW from wind energy by the end of 2015.

The Jhimpir Wind Power Plant is the first wind power plant in Pakistan. Some wind power plants are under constructions in Pakistan.

better for the health of people. Solar power is more inexpensive as compare to other ways of

electricity. Lack of maintenance that is required in long term. Everyone can save money by using Solar Energy. Solar Energy provides a huge advantage for satellites because

they can be launched into orbit without the added weight of a fuel supply. Solar energy can be sold at a profit. Load shading of electricity can be controlled by using solar energy. Installing plants is less time consuming.

The Scope Of Solar Energy in Pakistan The first Solar Panels were installed by PTCL on super highway

just outside Karachi. Then adopted by Sui Gas for their reporting systems. Till Date Sui Gas is the biggest consumer of solar technology in

Pakistan. Small Life Line consumers are adopting Solar technology all over

Pakistan. Solar Solutions are also being widely adopted in Agricultural

Applications. In big cities of Pakistan solar energy is being used in street lights. According to a study, Pakistan has identified cumulative potential

to generate 2.9 million MW from solar. The Government of Punjab decided to replace diesel turbines into

solar .

Scope in PakistanPakistan produces 20.24 millions tons garbage

annually & 59,000 tons daily.1,800MW from biogases cogeneration and

500MW from waste.Punjab government and Turk company would

cooperate in power generation projects from solid waste in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi.

Pakistan will produce 304 MW energy from garbage in future.
