CONFIRMATION/YOUTH MINISTRY
NEXT CLASS: Sunday, January 7, 2017. Confirmation 1 – 5:00 PM Confirmation 2 – 6:30 PM WE WANT YOU! We are looking for confirmed juniors and seniors to be a part of our peer-led Antioch program that we are revamping for our Confirmation two program. It is a very enriching experience and looks great on college applications, NHS hours, or anywhere else service hours are required. If you’re interested, e-mail us or stop by during one of our Confirmation two meetings. CONTACT US at: [email protected] Like us on Facebook: Our Lady Queen of Peace Youth Ministry.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CORNER Fifth Sunday Rosary December 31 - Today You are invited to join the Knights immediately following the 10:30 AM Mass to pray a rosary for Persecuted Christians around the world. ISIS may be on the run but so are Christians. The hostility against them based on their belief is constant and the Knights are committed to making the world aware of their plight. Please join us! Free Throw Championship Saturday January 27 marks the annual competition for boys and girls to be held in the school gym. Children ages 9 - 14 are invited to participate. Winners in their age category will move up to district, regional and state levels. Have your child be part of the fun. See church exits for more info or contact Mark Baczewski Grand Knight at [email protected].
LET US PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY In a time when our country is so divided, the Tri-County Clergy Association come together to unite our voices and take a stand against racism and injustice, and recognize that we are all part of God’s family. Join with us for a worship service on Sunday, January 14
th 7:00 PM at West
Milford Presbyterian Church (1452 Union Valley Rd. West Milford). Join with churches of different denominations as we come together and celebrate that we are all God’s beloved children. The service will be interactive and there will be opportunities to share our dreams for the future; as we gather to remember the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and the movement that he was an integral part of, as they fought for the civil rights of all people. Let us work together to build a better world.
PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR
I pray for those who long for your healing of the year we leave behind
and for your peace in the year we've just begun...
I pray you give the grace we need, Lord, to begin again, to trust again, to try again,
to hope again in you and in your love for us…
Send your Spirit, Lord, to open our minds and hearts
to all you'll offer us in the year ahead...
May this truly be a year of grace: may your mercy be our healing and your healing be our hope…
Give us what we need, Lord, to begin again, to trust again, to try again,
to hope again in you and in your love for us….
Amen.
