The so-called “Israel Antiquities Authority” issused a report on preliminary excavations in Northwest Buraq Square, which lies 100 meters away from the Western Al-Aqsa Mosque; these are the excavations carried out at the end of 2010. The report shows that the excavations carried out in May and August 2010 on an area of 8 square meters, are but a continuation of the excavations carried out between the years 2005-2009, which spread over an area of 1.5 dunams, by the “Israel Antiquities Authority” and the initiative and fund-ing of the “legacy Wailing Fund “, which prepare for the construction of the “Western Heritage Center” Project. The “Antiquities Authority” annexed images and maps of the written report, which clearly show that most of the assets in the engraved site go back to Islamic successive periods. The report is trying to relate some of he archaeological assets to the turkeys period, noting that the excavations carried out between 2005 and 2009 confirmed the presence of many discoveries of Islamic successive periods, which just confirm that the archaeological assets in these sites go to periods of ancient Arab and Islamic periods over 14 centuries.
