Alpine Allie Ambassadors We are proud to announce that Alpine Allie Ambassadors, a new leadership program, will be coming to Alpine Public School in January!

Based on Tools For Life, a rela-tionship-building program, the Alpine Allie Ambassador pro-

gram has been developed to help students resolve issues in a safe and respectful manner, and to promote healthy dialogue and cooperation during the nutrition breaks.

Our Ambassadors, students from grades 3 to 6, were chosen based on their application and interest in the program. Their main task will be to walk around the playground during the breaks, modelling appropriate behaviour, and assisting other students with problem solving and conflict resolution strategies. If a student has demonstrated positive behaviour, the Ambassador will hand out a “PutUp” slip that will be sent home.

Mrs. Fraser, our Grade 4/5 teacher and Mrs. Cowan from Tools For Life will begin training next week. Over the next few months we will be discussing how to speak to each other in respectful ways; how to deal with our feel-ings; we will learn what tools can be used to resolve is-sues and how to work cooperatively with others.

We look forward to seeing our students take on this im-portant responsibility.
