Alpenhorn Mid-Summer Issue 2016 Summer is in full swing in the mountains here at Alpine Village. This edition of the Alpenhorn will share with our owners important dates and information, wonderful comments made by owners and guests, and provide some opportunities for our owners to become involved with their HOA. There will be an Owners Meeting held in our clubhouse on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. This is not the required Annual Meeting, rather an opportunity to hear about what is happening at Alpine Village, talk about our goals for 2017, and begin the process of planning for the 2017 budget. There will be a Budget Committee meeting on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the clubhouse. Many owners would like to know the maintenance fee for 2017 so they may pay now and “bank” their week(s) with RCI or II. If you plan on attending the Owners Meeting or would like to be considered to serve on the Budget Committee, please RSVP to [email protected]. Please enjoy the beautiful pictures of Alpine Village. Thank you to our contributors; Jeff Brezner, Brenda Brooks, and Starr Stevens. Wonderful Comments Received! We enjoyed our time at the Alpine Village Resort immensely! We were greeted by 2 (live) deer literally as we pulled on property. The view was incredible from our unit, the clubhouse, and from the pool area. We were impressed with our unit and joked that it had everything we needed to live there comfortably for several months. The layout was awesome for two adults (downstairs comfortable Master with a King bed) and two children (upstairs with twin beds) with two private bathrooms. Our unit had an amazing balcony and front porch. We swam in the immaculate pool, shot pool in the clubhouse, and also borrowed games and several movies. The kids loved seeing the lightening bugs, chipmunks, bunnies, and deer. Our family went on several family hikes and visited a beautiful waterfall right by the resort. We also went gem mining in Spruce Pine and tubing at Himalayan Falls. We enjoyed a lunch out at the Snap Dragon in Burnsville. We really enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of the overlooks. We visited Mount Mitchell, which is the highest point East of the Mississippi, and enjoyed lunch on top of the mountain. We also drove through Asheville. Some of the local color this year! The Grove Park Inn is amazing. Brenda was very helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The resort came with a starter supply of toiletries, soap, dish detergent, and laundry detergent. The housekeeping does an amazing job! The unit was spotless-The top of the fridge was even dusted! Bottom line, the views cannot be beat and the resort and amenities were immaculate. It was also kid friendly! We look forward to returning to this hidden gem. The first week of June my husband and I spent our usual week at Alpine Village in Azalea 1. It happened to be the tenth anniversary of our coming to our mountain "home away from home" and we were so pleased to see the improvements made during the past year. Some delayed outside maintenance had been taken care of last year, and this year we had wonderful interior improvements--like new furniture in the living room, new bed linens/bedspreads........and the best thing was the new vertical blinds on all the windows! They work so much better than the old draperies did (some sticking with the draw rods), and being able to tilt the slats to control the glare of the sun is great! Our resort just keeps getting better and better, and the board is doing a good job of taking care of needed issues. It behooves us all to do our part, and pay our assessments in a timely manner.......after all; Alpine Village belongs to all of us! Looking forward to next year already!

The beds are so comfy! The resort is quiet, serene, and beautiful! We loved the area. The landscaping is gorgeous. KUDOS to everyone at Alpine Village! We like the updates to our unit! I can’t wait to see them as they continue. Everything was great, everything looks good. Thanks for the great stay! Everything was great! A- plus all the way! We were very happy with our stay this year! We enjoyed our stay very much this year. The new kitchen supplies are well done. Nice job on the new furniture, blinds, pillows, etc. Also, nice job on the grounds and beautiful plants. The place looks lovely. Thanks for everything. Place is well-run. We had a wonderful time and plan to come back in the future.

We like all of the improvements that have been made.

I wish the girls and I could have stayed the whole week. Things were blooming, landscape definitely improved from last year. The pool area looks wonderful and we enjoyed just sunning and looking out to our beautiful mountains. It was too early for the pool to open, but just sitting there is good. Our unit had a lot of updated things. We liked the new spreads, pillows (they were just fine for my sleepy head), we did not do a lot of cooking, but did notice the new shiny pots and pans and how every utensil had its proper place. Hope everyone else enjoys their time there as much as we did! Cleaner than ever!

Everything was very clean and well stocked. Thank you for the nice visit.

The view is amazing! It was hard to leave!

We had a wonderful stay. Friendly, unique, and loved the cool weather!

This was a wonderful relaxing get away. Alpine Village more than met our expectations. It is a quiet peaceful get away with a very nice pool and gas fire pit for all guests to enjoy. I will surely recommend to friends.

We absolutely loved our stay at Alpine Village. Before we even left we were planning our return trip. The kids loved the swimming pool and the large selection of movies. The adults loved the beautiful views and the many things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Brenda, in the office, was great and made check-in and check-out very easy. We were so happy that we stayed and wished we could have stayed longer.

Perfect resort and vacation experience. I cannot think of any aspect that needs improvement. Well done Alpine Village!!!

Brenda was very helpful and arranged for our key to be available even though she was not on-site when we arrived. Mount Mitchell Golf Course practically on-site, was a perfect golfing experience.

Our unit was immaculate and had a new couch and chairs in the living room, as well as new blinds on every window. The bed in the master was so comfortable and we had many restful nights.

Updates and Information Our Living Social campaign has been very successful. We have had a net income of over $18,000 so far this season. This program has brought new faces to Alpine Village from 11 states and many have opted to rent again! To date our rental and Lease income is over $18,000. Many of our renters and RCI guests have decided to return and a few have opted to participate in our new long-term lease program. We welcome them into our Alpine Village family! Owners have had nothing but high praises for the improvements that were made to all of the units. It is nice to receive compliments. Owners and guests are impressed that Alpine Village is 35 years old and in such great shape. The one bedroom units are appreciative to have the convenience of the new washer and dryer within easy access. This was a wise decision finally put into action. We have experienced severe high winds this year. Brenda has had to fish tables and chairs out of the pool. We have also dealt with a little black bug issue this year. Leaves, debris and the bugs sink to the bottom of the pool. Our pool is open 10:00am to 10:00pm and we appreciate your patience that it is closed during cleaning.

We have lovely hanging flower baskets on each unit, the winds and unusual high humidity has wreaked havoc, and give shout-out to Brenda for maintaining these pretty baskets.

Our check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out is at 10:00am. Please abide by these times so we may provide the quality housekeeping and maintenance for each unit. There is a Release Form that needs to be signed and left in the office for our files. Thank you for your cooperation with these items. Our “Legacy Resort” celebrates over 35 years of mountain beauty and we want to send a “shout out” of thanks for the continued support of your resort. See you on the mountain!
