This is Rick Schwemmer’s seventh year as Bürgermeister or Mayor of Oktoberfest. He follows in his father Walter’s footsteps, who was Oberbürgermeister for 11 years. The original Oberbürgermeister of Snowbird’s Oktoberfest, Horst Young, held that position for 26 years. The responsibilities of the Bürgermeister include promoting the German/Bavarian culture and

explaining the history and background of this 207-year-old festival and the ceremonial tapping of the first keg on Labor Day weekend.The Alphorns perform on Hidden Peak every day of Oktoberfest at 3:15 p.m. Visit the Ticket Office to purchase an All-Day Activities Pass or Tram ride ticket. Please be on Hidden Peak or in the Tram line by 2:30 p.m. Tram operation is weather dependent.Look for Shan, the Juggler, and Dale Myrberg, the Yo-Yo Man, both performing within the Oktoberfest grounds throughout each day of the festival.Adult and Kids’ Games take place in the Oktoberfest Halle tent. Children’s games are from 1:40–2:10 p.m., adult games are from 3:50–4:20 p.m. every day of Oktoberfest.
