Area VII
The purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society shall
be: 1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual
fellowship;
2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a
potential for distinctive service in any field of education
3. To advance the professional interest and position of women
in education;
4. To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation or other
suitable endeavors in the interest of education and of women
educators;
5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding educators in
pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-
members women educators;
6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of
members and to encourage their participation in appropriate
programs of action;
7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political,
and educational issues so that they may participate
effectively in a world society.

PROJECTS
Books for Babies
Members will collect books suitable for babies and
young children and put them in bags along with a note to
parents about the importance of reading to children
daily. They will be given to new mothers at GRMC.
Member Partnership Project
Retired members partner with a member who is still in
the classroom to help her in the school setting
Chamber of Commerce – Teacher of the Year
Luncheon
Members will help decorate the tables of the teachers
who have been nominated for Teacher of the year.
Operation Washcloths
Members will collect small travel-size bottles of
personal care products and put them in washcloths to be
distributed at the local Family Violence Shelter.

Garage Sale Fundraiser
We will hold a garage sale this year in the spring to raise
funds for our grants and scholarships, as well as
convention expenses.
Meeting Donations
Members will make monthly donations for funding our
grants, scholarships, and convention expenses.
