It is with great pride, excitement and humility that we extend a hearty invitation to you to attend

the 2020 International Regional Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We have been working hard to

make this conference as informative and entertaining as possible. We will endeavor to exemplify excellence in

all that we execute and encourage you to join us to celebrate our region and each other.

We will have a Cabaret featuring the 24th Supreme Basileus, Soror Eva L. Evans on Monday evening, July 13,

2020. North Atlantic Regional Director, Soror Mary Bentley LaMar, former acclaimed Broadway performer,

Soror Arla Bentley, North Atlantic Representative to the International Membership Committee and the singing

principal, Soror Rochelle Archelus will join in the performance. It will be an evening of entertainment, fun,

food, music and dancing with sorors and friends from around the globe. This activity is opened to family,

friends, and other Greeks. We hope you will take advantage of this fun-filled activity.

The celebration and recognition will continue throughout the conference and culminate with The Recognition

of Excellence Award Luncheon Tuesday afternoon. Come and greet the awardees, be photographed with them

and current and former leaders of our sorority. This will be an event you do not want to miss.

Greetings Sorors of the International Region:

Alpha Kappa Alpha Regional Conference Season is upon us! It is my pleasure to welcome and

encourage each of you to register and attend your 30th Regional Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! As we prepare to experience Excellence at its best, we are ecstatic to gather in the name of our beloved sorority. Your active participation has been the core of the success of our second year of Exemplifying Excellence through Sustainable Service in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,

Incorporated® and your overwhelming support of this administration is greatly appreciated.

The host chapter of the International Region and your Regional Director, Joy Elaine Daley, anxiously await your arrival in Philadelphia! I am positive that the sorors from Africa, Asia and the Caribbean are ready to absorb the information and training that will be provided during this conference. This will undoubtedly ensure a successful 2020 program year in local chapters.

A critical part of Alpha Kappa Alpha is leadership development and service. Our conferences are designed to offer a wealth of Alpha Kappa Alpha knowledge to advance our sisterhood. December 23, 2019 Dear Sorors, It is with much pleasure and enthusiasm that we welcome you to the 30th International Regional Conference where “International Excellence and Sisterly Love Ring in Philadelphia”. The Sorors of Sigma Xi Omega Chapter are fervently planning for your pink and green arrival in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. As you expand your sorority knowledge during the plenary sessions, we hope you will also enjoy all the amenities of our beautiful host hotel, the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. We will be bringing our Bermudian hospitality and hope you will join us for an old school favorite welcome reception hosted in our International Regional Director, Soror Joy Elaine Daley’s, suite. Registration Materials Pick-Up Please bring and present your financial card and photo identification when you check-in. Sorors unable to attend the conference may request their Chapter Basileus or Graduate Advisor (Undergraduate Chapter Only) to pick up their registration packet. The following information will be required upon registration check-in:

▪ A signed letter is required from the absent soror giving permission to release her packet.

▪ The Soror picking up the packet will be required to present her financial card and the authorization letter.

▪ Only the Chapter Basileus or Grammateus will be allowed to sign for an absent Soror’s packet if she does not send a letter.

▪ No conference registration materials or souvenirs will be mailed.

Substitute Soror Registration (REQUIRES WRITTEN REQUEST) A soror may substitute for another soror by submitting a written request signed by the original soror, designating the name of the substitute soror. This document may be presented to the Registration Committee upon arrival at the conference. Substitution for a graduate delegate requires a written request from the Chapter Basileus. A substitution for an undergraduate delegate requires a written request from the Chapter Basileus and Graduate Advisor. A Country Flag Parade will be held at the beginning of the First Plenary Session on Monday, July 13, 2020. All chapters are asked to participate and march under their country flag. The hotel does not have enough flagpoles to accommodate all chapter flags. Please assign a chapter representative if the Basileus will not be in attendance. All participants must assemble in the back of the First Plenary session 30 minutes before the start of the session.
