DETACHMENT SERGEANT

ity! The Outlaws have

already proven that they

can work well together

and accomplish any

mission presented to

them.

All is completed and we

are ready to deploy!

Outlaws, have a safe

trip where ever you are

headed and lets start

this new journey next

month with high spirits!

The final weeks

are here for the

Outlaws! This

weekend is the be-

ginning of block

leave and for

many of us, this is

a long awaited re-

union with our

families we left

behind in the

States! For others,

this is the time to

spend every sec-

ond possible with

your loved ones

before saying fare-

well. Once Octo-

ber hits us in a

blink of an eye,

we will be getting

ready to aboard

that bird which

will take us to our

deploying desti-

nations whether

its Qatar or Ku-

wait. So now is

the time to cher-

ish every moment

we have left with

our families

which is the most

important prior-

The time has come….

CLS Certification

Page 3 OUTLAWS

Combat Lifesaver or

CLS as most of us

know it as was a four

day training event to

get certified. The

Outlaws learned and

refreshed their

knowledge of apply-

ing tourniquets. Also

what to do in the

situation of Care un-

der fire as well as

tactical field care and

tactical evacuation

care. The Outlaws

were put in scenarios

to test their memory

of tactical casualty

combat care and to

apply the phases on

their casualty. They

teamed up in pairs of

two in order to work

together and save a

fellow Soldier’s life.

The Outlaws all

passed this course

with flying colors!

Theater Specific Individual Readiness Training or TSIRT, was a three day long training event. The

hours were long, starting at 0830 until 2100 everyday! The Outlaws trained in everything from CLS,

HEAT, grenades, lanes, IEDs, and weapons qualifications. At times, it seemed overwhelming because

of the short period of time in which the Outlaws were to complete this training but everyone got a

“GO”.

The Outlaws learned a lot of valuable training and even had

fun doing so. Between the M18 smoke clouding the buildings that were being cleared

during the lanes and learning the different types of IEDs, the Outlaws gained good

comprehension of tactical training from an incredible team of NCOs.

A small team of four Outlaws got together on this day to prepare the duffle bags

for everyone in the detachment. The area was filled with the smell of spray paint

but with a little bit of teamwork, the Outlaws got through fifty duffle bags within

the morning. It was challenging at first because of the stencils and also having to

create the diamond that represents Finance, but all in all, the bags turned out ex-

actly as planned. Though, it was a headache, the purpose of this is to distinguish

our duffle bags from everyone else as a Detachment but also from each other as

they each have personal information.

On Friday, September 6th, the Outlaws were given the day off after having taken

the APFT. Many Outlaws improved on their score which goes to show that dedi-

cation pays off! In the afternoon, the Outlaws got together to enjoy a sociable

BBQ. Hotdogs, steaks and every side you can think of were served at this event.

Families and pets were also present which made this more a fun and vibrant envi-

ronment. FRG planned this event and it turned out to be very successful like al-

ways so we give thanks to the ladies of FRG for putting this together!...
