Kappa Alpha Theta

Scholarship is one of Kappa Alpha Theta’s four core values. A scholarship banquet is held each semester to recognize members with outstanding scholastic accomplishments. Theta consistently places in the top for grades, maintaining an average GPA above the all sorority average. There is a wide variety of majors represented throughout Theta and because of this we are able to have a mentor program in which where we pair each freshman with an upperclassman in her major to help her learn everything she needs to about her college.

Our national philanthropies are the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). We focus on raising money for these foundations through fundraising events, such as our annual Crawfish for CASA event in the spring. This year, we held a month long fundraising campaign during April for Child Abuse Prevention month and raised over $15,000 for CASA. Our local service project is with The B+ Foundation at Alabama. Through B+, our chapter is paired with a little girl named Addie, who was diagnosed with cancer. We have the wonderful opportunity of hanging out and planning events with Addie

to make her feel like the true hero and Theta sister she is.

Our members stay busy with many events throughout both the fall and spring semesters. From sisterhood events, socials, date parties and formal, there is always something to do with our sisters! Some of our favorite events include movie premieres, Formal, themed parties, swaps and our famous Kite Flight party in the spring semester.

We strive to help our members reach their full potential during their time here at the Capstone. From SGA to Capstone Men & Women to club sports, we are dedicated to helping each of our sisters find what they are passionate about and pursue it. To make this easier, we host a Theta Get on Board Day to

help our new members see what our older members are invovled in.
