Aims & activities of the proposed Alliance

• To inspire the faiths to take action on sustainable agriculture as a religious responsibility

• Help people to grow more food more sustainably, to end hunger, reduce poverty, protect the environment and tackle climate change

• Share best practice & experiences• Advocacy (local-national-international levels)• Build partnerships and coalitions

What do we mean by faith-based agriculture?

• Rooted in the faith conviction that we have a religious responsibility to: – Care for God’s creation– Feed the poor and lift people out of poverty

• Focused on poor & vulnerable communities and smallholder farmers

• Working through faith communities• Faith groups leading by example (eg, managing

faith land sustainably)
