Introduction All-State Basketball was born from the belief that "Excellence is not a singular act but a habit. You are what you do repeatedly." Shaquille O'Neal was speaking the truth and All-State Basketball is an organization that specializes in clinics, basketball camps and individual basketball training to achieve the goal of helping each player become one of the best basketball players in the state of New Jersey. All-State Basketball looks to stress the fundamentals which have become lost in the game that so many of our youth love to play. All-State Basketball uses techniques learned by real basketball players who have played at the highest levels of basketball in high school, college and the NBA to improve all aspects of each individuals game. This includes, shooting, ball handling, passing, using screens, footwork, agility and one-on-one moves. Our goal is to introduce our clients to many drills and skills that will assist them in one day becoming an All-State Basketball player, while applying the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We also emphasize lifelong skills such as values, self-esteem, goal setting and making responsible choices with every child that participates. We believe a great basketball player is a true asset to the game, but a great person of character is a true asset to the world. Our Aim At All-State Basketball we aim to provide children with quality health and fitness training through the game of basketball via our clinics, one-on one training sessions and various skill camps. Our priority is to focus on the development of our youth. All-State Basketball Camps and Clinics are ran by former Villanova/Los Angeles Lakers player John Celestand and former Manhattan/NJIT star Mars Mellish. Celestand and Mellish are supported by former and present Division I basketball instructors. All-State Basketball is committed to teaching fundamental skill development and knowledge of the game to players who have a desire to compete at a high level of basketball. With our talented, experienced and dedicated staff we work with kids ages 6-18 years old helping them to enhance their basketball experience in a competitive and positive environment. By teaching the fundamental basketball skills weve learned over the years, we aim to instill good character in the areas of leadership, teamwork, determination and competitiveness in youth basketball. Your sponsorship will help to keep the camp effective and affordable and support All-State Basketball with t-shirts, uniforms, prizes, equipment and competition expenses while youth learn to compete at a high level of basketball. By sponsoring the youth of All-State Basketball clinics, you will not only help with the development of important skills but your logo and company name will be viewed both locally and often nationally. A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them

John Celestand

John Celestand was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 30 overall pick of the 1999 NBA draft, as a 64 point guard. He was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers 1999-2000 championship team where he played alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille ONeal. Mr. Celestand spent several years playing professionally on some of the most famous European teams in Italy, France, Germany and the Ukraine. Currently, Mr. Celestand, through Celestand Consulting, serves as a basketball color analyst for the ESPN family of networks, which include ESPN Regional Television, ESPNU, ESPN3.com and The Big East Network. He covers Big East Conference College basketball games in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. He also is a radio color analyst for IMG College covering the Big East Game of the Week. In addition, through Celestand Consulting, he serves as a studio color analyst for Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia covering the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1994 and 1995 he was a New Jersey First Team All-State basketball player at Piscataway High School while also winning two Middlesex County championships. He averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.9 rebounds in his senior year. He was voted The News Tribune Player of the Year in 1994, while leading his team to the Group IV State Championship over Teaneck High School. He was voted one of the top 50 high school basketball players in the country in 1995. John received scholarship offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, Boston College, Florida, Georgetown and St. Josephs before finally deciding on Villanova University. He was voted to the Big East Academic All-Star team as a freshman in 1995. Mr. Celestand scored 1,227 career points at Villanova, while dishing out 450 assists, which ranks 9th all time in Villanova history. He graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Communications Media and Film in 1999.

Mars Mellish

Mars Mellish was a Division 1 standout at Manhattan College where he made the conference All-Rookie Team while earning team Defensive Player of the Year honors. Mars continued his basketball career at NJIT, earning First Team All-Conference accolades, while leading the conference in scoring and steals his senior year. Following the completion of a masters degree at NJIT, Mars joined the NJIT coaching staff to help lead the Highlanders to their first CACC title. Mars was a high school graduate of St. Peters High School in New Brunswick. Recognized as one of the best pure shooters in the state of New Jersey, Mars set the County record for most three-pointers in one game (10). He was also an All-State, All-County, and McDonalds All-American Honorable Mention selection while attending St. Peters. He received offers from Minnesota, Xavier, Davison, and Manhattan before finally deciding to stay close to home and attend Manhattan. In addition to serving the youth of his community through instructional sessions and various basketball training camps, Mars uses his college and masters degrees to serve as an accountant for the Elizabeth public school system. Mars brings a diverse and unique insight to the game that he passes on to his clients from past experience and his continued involvement in several competitive basketball leagues and tournaments.
