CRIMSON AQUA
Crimson and Aqua Balanced Audio cables were designed exclusively for Clarus by Jay Victor using a triple balanced
geometry, dedicated conductors for the positive, negative and ground connections all surrounded by an independent
protective layer of Aluminum/Mylar® and a heavy copper-braided shield. Acting as an antenna/drain, the shield is
connected only on the source-end providing a path to ground for induced noise that is away from the next component’s
input stage. Clarus Balanced Audio cables are made with the purest copper, PCCC, extruded into three distinctly different
optimized conductor types for Bass, Midrange and High-Frequencies. Each conductor type is insulated to minimize inter-
conductor interference resulting in an audio signal that is open and transparent with improved clarity, detail and tonal
balance. Clarus Balanced Audio cables are packaged and sold in pairs. Mono cables are available for half pair price.
Professional audio components transport signals over balanced connections using differential mode signaling. This
technology requires three conductors; one for main signal, one for the main signal inverted (180° out of phase with the
main signal) and one for ground. Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) will induce a noise level of equal intensity on each of
the two signal conductors. By subtracting the inverted signal from the main signal, the input electronics of the
component receiving the balanced signal will cancel the induced noise leaving silence. Balanced audio will deliver the
highest quality and quietest analog audio signals.

Unbalanced Single-ended RCA analog audio systems will benefit from using Clarus’ Twin Axial cable design. This design
has dedicated conductors for the positive signal and negative return signal with a multi layer heavy shield that is
connected to the source end only. In this design the shield will capture any induced interference sending it to ground at
the source end thereby isolating noise away from the input stage of the load. This configuration ensures a clear signal
transfer with overall noise rejection as close to balanced audio as possible.
Crimson and Aqua Signal-ended RCA audio cables were designed exclusively for Clarus by Jay Victor using the purest
copper, PCCC, extruded into three distinctly different optimized conductor types for Bass, Midrange and High-
Frequencies. Each conductor type is insulated thus isolating the different frequency ranges; the audio signal gains clarity
and the sound becomes more open and transparent. Clarus Single Ended Audio cables are packaged and sold in pairs.

Almost all AV Receivers and Pre-Amps will feature an LFE (Low Frequency Effects) output. The LFE channel is a mono
signal that is already filtered before the signal is sent to the Subwoofer. Subwoofers equipped with an LFE mode will have
the left input marked LFE.

Clarus Subwoofer cables are optimally designed for low frequencies. High frequencies, in general are rolled off as much as
possible, as these would simply represent noise in this type of cable. The cable geometry chosen for the Clarus subwoofer
cables is a multi-gauge twisted-pair design. Multi-gauge conductors create a more dimensional bass sound while twisted-
pair geometry gives the greatest noise reduction at low frequencies and tends to sound more natural. Try a Clarus
subwoofer cable and you will experience a rich blooming multi-dimensional bass. Clarus Subwoofer cables are packaged
and sold in each.

The Crimson USB cable was exclusively designed for Clarus by Jay Victor for high speed USB 2.0 computer audio
applications. To lower resistance, dramatically increase signal transfer and reduce potential timing errors, Crimson USB
cables are engineered with solid-core 6.1% ultra-pure silver-plated PCCC signal conductors. The solid-core conductors
prohibit jitter while the silver-plating significantly improves signal transfer by minimizing losses due to skin effect. At GHz
frequencies, digital USB signals travel primarily on the surface (skin) of the conductors. At higher frequencies, silver is a
better conductor than copper, the USB audio signal is transferred with less loss. The power conductor pair is made using
heavy gauge copper to ensure that adequate current is provided to USB audio devices. Precision twisted cable geometry
and six separate shields protect against any external noise or any noise on the AC power lines from getting into the signal
path. Clarus Crimson USB cables are packaged and sold as each.

Clarus speaker cables are designed in a flat configuration. In typical round speaker cables the plus and minus are twisted
together causing phase distortion to the audio signal. In flat speaker cable design the plus and minus conductors are in a
parallel configuration. This design eliminates phase distortion and improves sound quality and imaging. Clarus speaker
cables are made with PCCC, the purest copper, extruded into three distinctly different optimized conductor types for
Bass, Midrange and High-Frequencies. Each conductor type is insulated to minimize inter-conductor interference
resulting in an audio signal that is open and transparent with improved clarity, detail and tonal balance. The overall large
gauge conductors lower the cable’s resistance and provide higher current capability resulting in an increase in dynamics
and improved low frequency performance. Lowering the inductance and the resistance makes it easier for the amp to
drive the signal down the cable. Sonically, the sound is smooth and fluent as well as more dynamic. Clarus Speaker cables
can be terminated with BFAs, spade lugs or a combination. Clarus Speaker cables are packaged and sold in each.

For line-level components, such as CD players, DACS, Transports, & preamps, much less current is needed, and additional
flexibility is very desirable to aid in installation. For this application, Clarus uses a smaller overall gauge cable but
additional shielding is added. These types of components are much more sensitive, and can pick up RF and/or EMI noise
easily. The result is an obvious audible improvement created by lowering the noise floor, and allowing you to hear more
of the recorded information. Clarus Power cables are packaged and sold in each.

Clarus Power Cables are designed specifically for maximum noise reduction, to support a 50/60Hz low 60z60low
frequency AC signal and to supply the current demands of audio components without any loss of dynamics. Noise
rejection is critical and Clarus Power Cables rely on proprietary winding techniques and triple shielding to limit noise in
the building’s grid as well as EMI egress and ingress thus ensuring the lowest noise floor for sensitive source components.
Since line and neutral alternate back and forth 60 times per second, vibration isolation is critical, Clarus Power Cables are
engineered with a specialized dielectric formula developed specifically to dampen AC vibrational noise.
Current capabilities for power cables are a major concern. Wire gauges must be sufficient so as not to starve this current.
When only large conductors are used a cable tends to lose dynamics. To respond quickly to transients and prevent any
loss of signal, Clarus Power Cables combines different sizes of large conductors.

Current capabilities for high current power cables are a major concern. Large power amps draw current in pulses.
Resistance in a power cable may restrict the peak level of a required pulse which will limit the transient response of an
audio amplifier. Clarus High Current Power Cables are designed with large size wire gauges specifically so as not to starve
this current demand. However, large gauge conductors will not respond as quickly to transients. For this reason Clarus’
design includes a combination of smaller conductors and large conductors. The Clarus High Current Power Cables provide
full power, on-demand without limiting audio dynamics. For maximum noise reduction Clarus designed alternating lays
and twisting of the cable’s conductors to reduce the distortion caused by magnetic fields that are created when insulated
conductors are twisted in a bundle. Alternating the twist cancels out magnetic fields eliminating distortion. Clarus Power
