usual amusing style as

he explained the rules of the game/quiz. Four Judges were appointed

to declare the winners. But later the rules were relaxed, and anybody

could come to the dais and speak or sing as per his/her wish. The

appointment of judges too seemed to have been „stayed‟, as there were

no one to announce the winners!

Secretary Rtn Salil Chopra boosted up the atmosphere running around

the hall with cordless mike. All those who took to the mike, on the

stage or off the stage, gave excellent performance. Our Club is gifted

with immense talent, and all were winners!

PP Rtn Dr Balram Gupta spoke about „Joint family system and

nuclear family‟, and was in favour of joint family.

R‟ann Bir Gulati entertained us extremely well with Punjabi songs,

giving tribute to legendary Surinder Kaur.

Assistant Governor PP Rtn Ritu Singal graced the occasion and held

an interesting song quiz for the period starting from 1950s to date,

which had very good response from the audience!

PP Rtn RTPS Tulsi sang an old song, “Ek pyar ka nagma hai…”,

which inspired him to drive from Srinagar to Chandigarh in cold

weather on a scooter in 1972, when his daughter was to be born.

Two young girls Aayushi and Ankana, granddaughters of Rtn

Subhash Vats also gave melodious performance, “aaj jaane ki zid na

karo….”

R‟ann Parul Bali‟s performance also drew loud applause as she sang,

“tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam….,” from Sharukh Khan‟s dil wale

dulaniya, and then moved on to remember Jagjit Singh with “dhai

din na jawani naal chaldi….”

Last to come was the cute little boy Ayaan, son of Rtn Nitin Kapur.

International Assembly on 13-19 January 2019, at San Diego (USA) for

district governors elect informative training program. They will also have

ample opportunities to network with 535 fellow governors elect from around the world, and come back fully geared up to introduce new ideas and

Rotary‟s priorities for the coming year 2019-20.
