These days, image factors are important for the economic and tourist appeal of a city. Freiburg has gained an international reputation in such fi elds as solar engineering, traffi c and transport policy, as well as environment and climate protection. Freiburg’s pioneering and model projects have been rewarded with prizes and high visitor numbers to such groundbreaking constructions as the world’s fi rst energy self-sustaining solar building, the Heliotro-pe, the solar village created by the solar architect Rolf Disch, or the zero-energy houses of the Vauban neighbor-hood – and the world’s fi rst football stadium with its own solar plant.

Wood Rope Garden Freiburg
As the name indicates, Waldseilgarten (Wood Rope Garden) lies in the middle of Mooswald in Frei-burg’s town district of Rieselfeld. In addition, the rope elements are integrated into the natural popula-tion of growing trees. The ample constructions offer a combination of high-wire elements and ground stations of various types and diffi culties. For example, a balance beam can be crossed in lofty heights. A gigantic cable railway line leads past the crowns of American red-oak trees. The whole group crosses a “swamp” on the ground, or climbs through a spider’s web. The adventure education events promo-te social competences, for example, responsibility, capacity for teamwork, confl ict-handling skills, or competence in making decisions. The Seilgarten is opened for individual events only. You will receive a personal quotation on request.
