RFQ PIP Status

• RFQ injector is connected to Linac Tank 1

Page 3: All Experimenter’s Meeting: Proton Improvement Plan Status

Beam has been sent to end of RFQ

43 mA of H- beam has been transmitted to the end of the RFQ (60 mA at source @ 71% transmission efficiency)

RFQ Plans

• MEBT tasks– Align MEBT– Attach power, RF and water to MEBT– Condition Buncher

• Plans for beam to NTF– Beam commissioning during Thanksgiving week.– Must finish commissioning by 04 Dec because of

NTF patient treatment schedule. (NTF may extend schedule by 1 week to 10 Dec)

Booster PIP Status

• Booster solid state (SS) conversion status– About 10 out of 19 are SS.– Cabling and supplies are needed for the 10. Close to

operational.• BRF2 driver rack still needs to be connected up.

• Three cavities have been refurbished: 5, 7, 8. Only 7, 8 installed.– BRF6 under test.

• LCW work at CUB is done. Water is circulating. Fixing leaks.
