Bodhidharma was

commissioned to China to

revive the proper teachings of

Lord Buddha. The teachings

of Bodhidharma are known as

‘Sho-O- honyen-chishiki’.

The teachings of Bodhidharma

is classified into two

categories:

1. Snavas-Jala-Nidana-

Vipnapti

2. Asthi Majja

Bodhidharma taught the

science of healing through his

spiritual martial training

imparted to the Chinese-

Indian monks as Shaolin

Temple, Henan, China.

The Spiritual martial training

comprised of :

1. External healing – martial

training

2. Internal healing – sitting

meditation (zazen)

3. Healing other-self

holistically (spirit-mind-

body)

EKKINGYO (JAPANESE)

Nakano Michiomi of Japan,

went to China in 1928, at the

age of 18, and lived there for

17 years. During his stay

there he learned martial arts

(kengi) from the masters of

various schools which had gone

into hiding after the Boxer

Rebellion.

The Taoist masters of

Manchuria and China taught

him the nuances of ancient

healing. However, these were

in bits and pieces of

information and practice.

Nakano Michiomi of Japan,

upon his return to post-world

war II Japan, set up Kongo

Zen Sohanzan Shorinji. It is

through this erstwhile

organization he put together

all his information into a

complete curriculum. It is the

first of its kind in the modern

world.

The complete system of healing

is called ‘Kongo Zen’ and it’s

practice is called

‘Shorinjikempo.’

Sensei Kirtie Kumar Futnani,

learns this science at Kongo

Zen Sohanzan Shorinji,

Shikaku, Japan.

He establishes a direct branch

of Kongo Zen Shorinji Kempo

in India. In the year 1988, this

was established at Madras

(Chennai).

Balancing of central meridians is known as ‘Sei Kei’. Balancing of peripheralmeridians is known as ‘Sei Myaku’. The energy channels or meridians arenumerous. Shorinji Kempo takes 12 meridians and 2 vessels for the basis of Ki-atsu. Ki-atsu aims to remove energy blockages in the channels, thereby removingdisorder or diseases in the 10 visceral organs. To master Ki-atsu, one must firstunderstand the principles of the 10 visceral organs and the 12 energy channels andlearn how to move with them

COMPLETE SCIENCE OF SEIHO


There are two divisions in

Seiho, namely: Ki-atsu and

Shi- Atsu.

Ki-atsu is a therapeutic technique

that is used to balance the central

meridians and peripheral

meridians. Balancing of central

meridians is known as ‘Sei

Kei’. Balancing of peripheral

meridians is known as ‘Sei

Myaku’. The energy channels or

meridians are numerous. Shorinji

Kempo takes 12 meridians and 2

vessels for the basis of Ki-

atsu. Ki-atsu aims to remove

energy blockages in the channels,

thereby removing disorder or

diseases in the 10 visceral

organs. To master Ki-atsu, one

must first understand the

principles of the 10 visceral organs

and the 12 energy channels and

learn how to move with them.

condition of life. Kappo is a

method of resuscitation

applied to someone who has

been knocked unconscious by a

strike to a vital point.

Seiho is the branch of science that deals with internal defense against

diseases and disorders of Human beings. This system of techniques is based

on the natural principles of the body’s anatomy and energy. The appearance

of cosmic energy in the body is known as ‘Ki-ryoku’ which means ‘the energy

of life

KI-RYOKU – ‘TEMPO’ EXPLAINED

Tempo: Cosmic Order. The law of ‘engi’, cause and effect and its inter-relation which

shows how the universe works.

KI-RYOKU – ‘CHI-I’ EXPLAINED

Chi-I : Earthly Position. Understanding ‘Dharma’ which is the source of life that

gives birth to and raises all creatures. Understanding the huge network of energy

that sustains all of nature.

KI-RYOKU – ‘KYO JITSU’ EXPLAINED

Kyo-Jitsu: Jitsu refers to a state of concentration of mind, ki, and body which is

extremely strong. Kyo signifies a state of weakness generated by mind, ki, and body

operating out of balance. The study of the pulse in 14 meridians is the study of kyo-

jitsu. Study of wind, choler, phlegm in the 12 meridians is the main diagnosis for

Kyo-Jitsu.

KI-RYOKU – ‘IN-YO’ EXPLAINED

In-Yo : All things in Dharma are ever changing because everything has unlimited

potential. That all changes are only relative, each influencing the others and being

influenced in return without a single change taking place independently of the

others.

Anyone can join this course and learn how to heal. Spiritual Martial

Training is complementary to this course. Kongo Zen Shorinji Kempo India

has opened the doors to the community for those truth seekers who want a
