JIPMER MBBS – Brief about the exam

In addition, you also need to have attained 17 years of age at the time of admission or attain the same on or before Decem-ber 31 of the year of admission.

How can I apply for JIPMER MBBS?Interested candidates will have to apply in online mode. JIP-MER MBBS Online Applications are tentatively available from First week of March. The complete application proce-dure is online and no other mode is accepted by the institute.

Applications, complete in all respects need to be submitted before first week of May. Candidates need to note that in any case, the applications received after the last date shall not be entertained. Candidates need to remit an online application fee of Rs. 1000 only in online mode using any of the online modes including Credit card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

JIPMER MBBS Paper Pattern – JIPMER MBBS is the MBBS entrance test conducted in online based distrib-uted object system, comprising 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into 4 sections:

S Physics

S Chemistry

S Biology

There are 60 questions in each section apart from English section, which has 20 questions. Each correct question carries one mark. There is no system of negative marking thereby no marks shall be deducted from total scored marks.

JIPMER MBBS Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying exam in March / April and whose results have not yet been declared can also apply for JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam

Applicants from Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes / OPH must have 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology taken together

For OPH candidates in general category the minimum qualifying marks in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination will be 45%

Candidates appearing for JIPMER MBBS need to check eligibility criteria of the MBBS entrance exam so that they know the academic qualification and age

limit before applying for JIPMER MBBS. JIPMER MBBS Exam shall be conducted by JIPMER for admissions to undergraduate medical programmes.

Eligibility for MBBS Programme – Candidates must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31 in the year of admission

JIPMER MBBS Admit Card

For rectification in JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam Admit Card, candidate must provide written request with copy of the downloaded application and hall ticket and proof of cat-egory / status should be sent to ‘The Registrar (Academic)’, JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006, so as to reach on or before the scheduled date. JIPMER will not be responsible for postal delay.

Any change will be done in the hall ticket only on pay-ment of fee Rs. 1000 or Rs. 800 (as applicable). Payment can be done through demand draft, drawn in favour of ‘The Accounts Officer’, Puducherry, payable at Puducherry

Request for rectification / change of any other details in the JIPMER MBBS Hall Ticket details will not be considered under any circumstances

Change in category / status in JIPMER MBBS Hall Ticket will only be considered for rectification.

No candidate will be allowed to appear for the MBBS Entrance Examination without a valid JIPMER MBBS Admit Card.

JIPMER issues MBBS Entrance Exam Admit Card from third week of May. JIPMER MBBS Exam Admit Card is available in online mode only.

You need to download the admit card by entering your Application Sequence Number/User Id and Password.

JIPMER notifies that no admit card of any candidate will be sent through post or any other mode.

Only the registered eligible candidates will be able to down-load JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam Admit Card.

JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam Hall Ticket/E-Admit card contains important details of the applicant including Name of the candidate, Roll Number, Photo, Signature and Venue of the examination. JIPMER MBBS Counselling Procedure

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Educa-tion and Research, Puducherry will be conducting counselling for JIPMER MBBS in the second week of

July. The qualifying candidates of JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam will need to attend the counselling schedule. As per the counseling schedule, they need to undergo biometric finger print and image verification process. In case any mismatch is found, the candidate will not be permitted to attend the counselling. The candidates shall be called in for JIPMER MBBS Counselling based on JIPMER MBBS Merit List.

All qualifying candidates will be called in for unreserved category seats as per the merit acquired by them. Once all the unreserved category seats are filled in, the remaining reserved category seats, including OBC, SC, ST, Puducherry UR, Puducherry OBC and Puducherry SC shall be filled up by the candidates on the basis of their merit and eligibility as mentioned in academic year brochure.

In case any candidate, who belongs to Puducherry SC/ Puducherry OBC, qualifies as per the inter-se merit of SC and OBC, he/she may be offered the admission against the SC and OBC seats respectively.
