Dear Friends,We warmly welcome you to join us for our 5th Alive Festival, being held over the early Bank Holiday weekend, 5th – 7th May.

The theme this year is 'Equipped for the Kingdom'. Our seminar streams and workshops will help equip us to be a holy people, fit for the King. To be a people who know how to engage in mission and see our nation transformed.

It is an exciting programme because we believe we need to get ready for the Kingdom. We need to surrender our lives so that we can be all of what God intended us to be.

So come and enjoy great teaching, great worship, great coffee, great cakes, in a great place.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

with love,

Dave & Karen Gardner

St John’s Church, Woodbridge, Suffolk, the base for Alive, is a growing charismatic, evangelical church with a strong Bible-based ministry. St John’s an active partnership with other denominations in the town who also seek to transform society through God’s love.

Once more Dave & Karen will be hosting the weekend with its mix of contemporary worship, relevant Bible teaching, practical seminars and workshops. Alive Festival promotes a balance between Word and Spirit and seeks to serve East Anglia and smaller church settings. There will be three full days of festival activities from 10am to 9.30pm with four streams of seminars, workshops and also morning and evening celebrations.

Signing for the hearing impaired will be available for at least the main meetings.

But in amongst all the activity do make time to take in the beautiful surroundings, the River Deben and the market town of Woodbridge.

“I felt the teaching and worship were excellent and all my needs were catered for over the weekend”

Interested in volunteering? You can now apply online.

Pre-schoolYoung children aged between 2½ and 4 years of age have their own activities during two of the seminar sessions so parents can participate in all that Alive Festival offers them. We couldn’t keep the Neal Family away and so they return for a fifth amazing year! They provide a caring and fun programme for the children with songs, stories, drama, puppets and games.

Freerunners, run by James Hamilton, is the programme of activities for primary-age children. This will be the fourth year James and his team have run the Alive children’s work with their amazing drama, games, singing, crafts, Bible stories, DVD’s, teaching, messy quizzes and loads more.

In the evening ‘The Box’ will once again provide well-supervised viewing of the latest children’s blockbusters thus allowing parents to attend the adult evening celebration.

ALIVE YOUTHHeld in its own separate venue, Alive Youth offers age-specific teaching for young people. Rich Powney returns as the main weekend speaker - formerly from Viz-a-Viz Ministries in Essex and now studying at London Bible College, Rich draws on his own life-story to help and encourage young people in their personal walk with Jesus. Alive Youth is also an opportunity to experience God through contemporary worship and to get to know other young people working out what it means to follow God.

Youth- specific seminars or an opportunity to join the adult seminars will be on offer in the afternoons or alternatively there’s a chance to chill out with friends playing outside or on the Wii or Xbox provided. The evening celebrations present more live music from the youth worship band and a visiting speaker. Some of this year’s line-up includes Amy Watson who works with Christian Youth Ministries in Colchester and leads the Beloved project, a self-esteem ministry in schools and Shell Perris who is a speaker, author, singer, songwriter and presenter.

“Alive Youth had a really friendly atmosphere, with relevant down to earth speakers, and worship that young people can relate to”

Parents can supervise their young children and babies in a play area within CafeConnect, which has a live link to the main venue. The Oasis offers a few activities for parents and their young children and there’s a room for nursing mothers, including facilities to warm baby food.
