Procedure1 Disconnect the battery cable from the system-board connector.

2 Remove the screws that secure the battery to the computer base.3 Using the battery cable, lift the battery and release it from the tabs on the computer

base.

4 Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.5 Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.

Procedure1 Close the display and turn the computer over.

2 Align the tabs on the battery with the slots on the computer base.

3 Align the screw holes on the battery with the screw holes on the computer base.4 Replace the screws that secure the battery to the computer base.5 Connect the battery cable to the system-board connector.

Procedure CAUTION: To prevent damage to the memory-module connector, do

not use tools to spread the memory-module securing clips.

1 Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory-module connector until the memory module pops up.

2 Remove the memory module from the memory-module connector.

Procedure1 Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the memory-module

connector.

2 Slide the memory module firmly into the slot at a 45-degree angle, and press the memory module down until it clicks into place. If you do not hear the click, remove the memory module and reinstall it.

NOTE: If the memory module is not installed properly, the computer may not boot.

NOTE: The secondary hard-drive or solid-state drive is optional and can be installed in the optical drive bay.

Procedure1 Connect the interposer to the secondary hard-drive connector.

2 Place the secondary hard-drive in the secondary hard-drive bracket.3 Align the screw holes on the secondary hard-drive with the screw holes on the

secondary hard-drive bracket.

4 Replace the screws that secure the secondary hard-drive to the secondary hard-drive bracket.

5 Align the screw hole on the secondary hard-drive assembly with the screw hole on the main bracket.

6 Replace the screw that secures the secondary hard-drive assembly to the main bracket.

7 Turn the secondary hard-drive assembly over. 8 Slide the secondary hard-drive cable into the system-board connector and press

down on the connector latches to secure the cable.

9 Align the screw holes on the secondary hard-drive assembly with the screw holes on the computer base.

10 Replace the screws that secure the secondary hard-drive assembly to the computer base.

Procedure1 Loosen the captive screw that secures the camera module to the display back-cover.

2 Disconnect the camera cable from the camera-module connector.

3 Pry the camera module from the display back-cover.4 Lift the camera module off the display back-cover.
