Algebra 1 Semester 1 

Volusia Virtual School  

FIRST TIME VIRTUAL APEX USERS complete the student orientation for Apex before starting the first activity in the course. Orientation can be found under Quick Links on the main page.

Submitting Written Assignments Submit written assignments using the Apex Message center.

Include your name, course name, and assignment number (Example 3.2.1) on all

assignments.

Copy and paste assignments into Microsoft Word. Turn in using the message center.

Gradebook View grades, due dates, and all assignments by clicking on Reports tab.

Assessments To earn course credit, you must score a 60% or better on all unit tests.

All unit tests are proctored. Refer to your VVS Orientation for procedures.

You may use the formula sheet but no notes or examples on your tests.

You cannot leave an assessment once it is started.

Printing a quiz or test is prohibited.

To retake a quiz or unit test, you must email completed study sheets to the teacher

before you will be allowed to retake an assessment.

*Diagnostic tests are used for remediation only.

Tips for Success

Complete your own work. Academic integrity is expected. If there is question

concerning the authorship of any student performance, the work will be verified.

Monitor your progress to make sure you are on track for completion.

Complete the assignments in order.

Read all pages and complete all activities in each section.

If you are struggling with a lesson, complete the study sheets.

Study for your quizzes and unit tests. Take the test shortly after completing the unit.
